Hot corner ... to Warren's point and based on your list of bowl wins, yes, I think there can be debate about which conference was better this year. When I look at the teams that the Pac 12 beat in the bowl games, with the exception of the Oregon win over FSU, I see a lot of close wins vs. average opponents. Big 10 took out Alabama, Baylor and Auburn ... pretty impressive ...

Is the Big 10 better than the Pac 12 or SEC, I'm not saying it is, but it definitely can be debated based on those bowl wins.

It won't matter if OSU wins the whole thing....... Some folks just will not give them the respect they've earned. Yes they lost to V. Tech with a QB who had less than ready experience. After that they've beaten everyone they faced..... Even Alabama who they were supposed to lose to. Now they are supposed to lose to Oregon, if I'm being honest they probably will. I'm an OSU fan, but Oregon is a power house. I'm pulling for the Buckeyes, if they could pull this off......... There's still some who will say they didn't deserve it. They've already defied the odds. Lets hope they can pull out a miracle. O-H-I-O!!!!!!!!!!

Wrong!!!!!
I think that he realizes the Big Ten is just not as good as many make them out to be. Let's look at the top 3 teams. Michigan State lost to Oregon by about 20, Wisconsin lost to LSU, and tOSU lost to Virginia Tech. There is not one big win by any of these teams. tOSU has the worst loss of these one loss teams.

Strength of schedule:

Ohio State 38
TCU 26
Baylor 17

12-0 Florida State is 33

These numbers would suggest that Baylor or TCU should sneak into the top 4.

Baylor beat TCU head to head, lost to #26 West Virgina, but has the strongest strength of schedule of the bunch.

TCU's only loss is to Baylor and has a better strength of schedule that tOSU.

tOSU destroyed Wisconsin and beat Michigan State but barely beat Penn State (2 OT's), lost to #45 Virginia Tech and has the weakest strength of schedule of the bunch.

Wrong again!
Maybe its because the Big 10 is one of the weakest conferences in college football, and I'm betting Alabama beats OSU by 21. A third string quarterback going up against a SEC defense in Alabama. Sounds like blowout potential to me. The bowl committee simply followed the money, OSU from Northeast/Midwest and the tv draw from this area, they will draw more fans than TCU or Baylor. Think about it, you have Alabama in the South East, Oregon in the Northwest, and Alabama towards the South also, they are covering all geographic regions and where they will draw fans.

Still wrong!
There's a reason they're getting bashed......they are overrated! It's not the conferences fault....it's the people in the media living in the past. I don't have a problem with OSU or the Big Ten. I'm just a realist. I think the SEC is a bit overrated this year as well but top to bottom they are better than the Big Ten. OSU is moving in the right direction though and Meyer will end up with a perennial powerhouse as long as Meyer hangs around. Michigan State's okay but c'mon.....Wisconsin is a joke! The entire Big Ten West is a joke and even the ACC Coastal division is better.

Bucks 42, Ducks 20.

As the math nerds say, "Q.E.D." (and underline it twice when they write it!)

From Latin quod erat dēmonstrandum (“that which was to be proved”)

Here endeth the lesson.

What's your point? Ohio State winning the national championship makes the ENTIRE Big Ten Conference NOT overrated? Did I say Ohio State was horrible? I did say, possibly in another thread, that Jones made Ohio State better. I'm not so sure Ohio State makes it past Alabama without Jones. Ohio State peaked at the right time. They are the best team in the country, and will probably be a top team for as long as Meyer stays, which I believe I stated in an earlier post in this thread. They destroyed Oregon with ease. But please, don't think for a minute that Ohio State winning a national championship made the entire Big Ten better. The Big Ten finally had success this year in bowl games where they failed miserably in the recent past, but the wins (other than OSU) weren't exactly stellar performances. Baylor was killing Michigan State before a fluke 4th quarter. Wisconsin had to go to overtime against a not so good, overrated Auburn team. What about Illinois, Nebraska, and Minnesota? Like I said before, the Big Ten west was a joke.

Holy crap folks. Cant we all just get along? hahahahaha
I for one am a happy sumbitch that OSU won the National Championship, did they deserve to be there? Your damn right they did! Did the Big 10 have bowl success this yr? Your damn right they did! Is the Big10 a weak conference........ummmmmm..... probably. Ohio State is by leaps and bounds the best team in the country, to handle Oregon the way they did on D, and run the football down there throats like they did is proof enough, at least for me. Theres always gonna be haters, hey you root for "your" team. Theres nothing wrong with that. The big discussion for a while was did Ohio State deserve the #4 spot? Point proven that yes they obviously did. Is Oregon a great team? Oh yeah they are, best QB in college football. Mariota is a class act, a great student and probably a good kid. At the end of the day, OSU wins it all in dominant fashion, BIG10 finally has bowl success, and the SEC finally doesnt have bowl success. In my opinion, the BIG10 is not the strongest conference, but they do have the strongest team in the country. It will be interesting next season to see what Meyers is going to do about the QB situation? My opinion, stay with Jones, proven he can win the big games!

Jones goes pro since he is getting older and having kids while Barrett and Miller are duel threat quarterbacks.

@larrybowman... C.Jones seems to be Meyer's type of college QB- big, durable- but Bucs may need bigger WR's/TE to allow C. Jones time to develop and help protect. I'd guess the QB coaches are going to be busy bringing the pass protection and passing game to a higher level.
Great situations for the Bucs... too much talent? ...... I'll take it.

Kinda like the SEC west was Joke. 2-5 and the 2 teams that won where 6th and 7th in the west. TCU humiliates Ole Miss, Georgia Tech stomps Miss. St., and average ND team beats LSU, Wisky beats Auburn that you said was overrated, Ohio St beats Alabama and the score was much closer than the game. If not for some mistakes in the 1st half they could have won by 20.

I would not measure the strength of a conference based on how good the middle to bottom teams are performing. If you do, then good for you! The BIG10's top teams got it done. Michigan State's "fluke" win is still a win. Wisconsin's "overtime" win is a win. Ohio State beat the Pac 12 Champ and the SEC Champ. You can't even go by bowl records. Florida beat East Carolina. That win means nothing to me and the college football world. They played in the Birmingham Bowl on January 3rd. Good Job! The BIG10 is not overrated. Parity in college football is just at a high point right now.

Just like Baylor had a fluke win against TCU. Just FSU had how many Fluke wins this year, TCU had a fluke win against WVU. , I could go on. One team won the other lost.
