When did you purchase it?
How many swings hitting an actual ball has your dd batted with it?
Have you, the parent, tried hitting with it off a tee?
Does the ball pop off the bat when you front toss to her?

Way way way back in the day, when the first slow pitch composites came out they were stiff as wood. They needed a long break in period before the ball started jumping. Someone turned me onto wrapping the bat in a towel and rolling it on the garage floor as you hit the barrel with a dead blow hammer to simulate contact.

Very unlikely dead out of the wrapper. Normaly takes about 50 good hits to fully open up with the new bats, Also won't pop if you don't hit the sweet spot. hve you use dit yourself? you can tell by feel and sound when you hut the sweet spot.
