Yeah, last 2 tournies we exited earlier than we'd like in the Bracket, and when that happens I don't linger around the Park too long. haha.

Great job today SDS, even with the crummy weather we had to deal with, we still managed to play well into the night. Hopefully the rain calms down a bit tonight and we can all have a good day of Elimination games on Sunday. :yahoo:

I do have to throw this in here, tho: The only complaint I can think of is only having 1 ump for our games, which led to some really brutal calls out in the field... and having an umpire (Tim?) tell my shortstops's dad to "Sit down and shut up!" after the parent said, "C'mon ump, you're killing us. OK girls, this inning we're getting 4 outs!" Aren't umps taught to ignore fans until their behaviour becomes violent? Wow, that was a first for us at any level, rec or travel. Very unprofessioneal ump on a power trip.

I HATE one ump tourneys. Why don't we just play croquet? Other then that the SDS did great job. We got out money's worth!! Fields handled the rain pretty well. No walking taco's. Is it really Fastpitch with-out Walking Taco's???

One BUSH LEAGUE 10U team failed to show. Other team got their this morning to play at 8:00am (I believe) which means they were there about 7:00am, only to have no one to play. Wish I could mention their name because they should be shamed out of the state. They carry the name of a West Virginia town which is where they should be exiled to.

Semantics, much? The point here is as an umpire, you NEVER let the fans get to you to the point where you resort to telling them to "shut up" and hurl threats at them. The ONLY option in this case is to inform the TD or UIC between innings that there may be a potential problem with a fan, and let THEM monitor the situation. An ump's job is to deal with the official participants of the game, and that includes players and coaches, not fans. Letting the ump know he made a bad call, without using profanity or personal insults, is as American as Apple pie. Stop being naive and pretending like you've never been to a game, and have never participated as a fan.

The OUTCASTfastpitch-14u family had a GREAT time this week-end.

MOST peolple don't understand all of the hard work and energy that it takes to put on an event like this. Don't let the handfull of complainers get you down. We REALLY appreciate ALL of the hard work that you guys have done that allowed ALL of the young ladies to be able to play ball this weekend.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of the 14u SDS young ladies. You played GREAT this weekend and deserved 1st place!!! :yahoo:

THANK YOU SO MUCH for a great weekend of softball and fun. I sincerely enjoyed meeting you guys and putting faces to names. Between the SDS people and the teams we played, I feel we made some new friends this weekend. The Tourney was great, the competition was intense and the Championship gift bags really made our girls happy and wanting to come back in 2 weeks to see you all again. GREAT JOB, SDS. Yeah, we had a tough road to travel to get there. We won semi-final 4-2 and our Final game 2-1. And 5 of our 11 players are from your and my neck of the woods.
