I just got this email from John Deluca

Fees are $5.00 for all adults per day or $13.00 for the weekend. Water may come in but can't bring in anything that Softball World sells and they sell gatorade. WATER ONLY All players, children and Senior are free and every team packet will have 3 managers passes. The information off the Softball World site is for their leagues only not an NSA event.

wvanalmsick, me trying to get under a fence would be enough of a diversion that LeBron James could walk right thru the front gate and NOBODY would notice.

Last year it was said that NSA would not return to Brookpark.
The $5 a day, the gatekeepers, no coolers, bad fields etc.
But here we are again!
Just a few years ago 40-50 teams in each age group would participate, now 4 10u?s and like 6 18?s. You treat people badly, they don?t come back.
I heard rumors that Stan (North Coast Spirit) was to host this year, I know that He has 2 tourneys real close together, and a 3rd would be tough. But He would run it right
I hope someone will step-up next year.

Sure did see a lot of coolers today at the tourney...wished I would have brought my Playmate...LOL Tomorrow, I will see if I can bring in my "water". $2.50 for a hotdog, I almost fell over. I am off to wash out the 10 tons of dust out of my mouth and hair...

Which field is the worst?
Right now I am leaning on field 5 with field 4 as a close runner up.
Field 5
You have a hole in the baseline going to first, I seen 3 girls trip in it yesterday.
And the leftfield hole is really great
And having no place to warm-up at all
And the air conditioning condensate drain dripping and being blew on your back. Gives this field a special feel.
Field 4
The undulating infield, hardly can see across the infield, really nice
The beer ad on the back of the dugout
The center field hole
The 12 inch gap under the fence behind 1st base

I think tommy needs to make the facility look and play according to the cost he charges for everything!

We wont be back

First time experiance. Softball World is'nt bad,I got to have a Beer & Burger & watch the game from my own Luxury Box (Restaurant Seat). GREAT VIEW. Never get to have alchohol in Coluimbus or further south, but the further north you go the less concerned people are of the evil drink. The prices arent too bad, I've seen worse at parks that dont provide all that. The grounds are terrible, why dont they bring in dirt & level the warmup areas. Then you could warm up in the inadaquite space provided. OVERALL C-

tomuch,

That is why it is called "B". All the good teams were in Youngstown playing in the "A" state.

There were 20 teams in 14u B, and not even that many in 14u A. Where were all the other teams? Yeah, the "good" ones went A, but that doesnt mean the ones in B weren't good teams. I resent that comment. The teams in B were pretty equally matched, which made for some good ball games. I personally didnt see a team that far exceeded the playing ability of another, and some of the teams there are playing A nationals. Congratulations to everyone this weekend, at A and B, and good luck at whichever nationals you attend.

Hey Stingray77, How did you guys do up at NSA "B"s? Do you have any results for the 12U?

Interesting perspective you have "tomuch", after you were busting on the Pittsburg team last week about not playing enough of the tough teams. I think it was 'playing the good teams can only make you better'.

I think A teams should play in the A tournament, leave the B states for the true B teams. More B teams than A just helps the slide toward mediocrity. A lot of the teams in B's may not be classified as elite, but they are good solid teams with some great athletes that should be given the chance to play at the highest level.

in answer to a question noted above what 14 U teams were there, here are the ones that I can remember.
Akron Sapphires
Elyria Sun Dogs
Ohio Pride
Slimman's Dodge Girls
Rattlers
North Coast Spirit Blue, Gold and White
Stardusters
Ohio Lightning
and 10 others that I did not catch their names.

Re: NSA

14u:
Akron Sapphires vs. Elyria SunDogs in championship. ?SunDogs win it. ?Sapphires played six games with only a 40-minute break today because they fought their way out of the losers bracket all weekend. ?SunDogs played one game today - the championship. ?Score: 6-1.

12u:
Akron Sapphires vs. Chain Reaction. ?Sapphires win it 5-1.

10u:
Akron Sapphires vs. North Coast Spirit with international tie-breaker. ?Sapphires win it 18-15.

Don't have a clue on 16u or 18u winner. But Sapphires don't have those age levels so I know it wasn't them!

Sapphires had a great weekend!

10u championship was just a fun game to watch. I stopped watching my DD to watch this game. According to parents the game was over 3 hours long. The 10's just amaze me. It sure is refreshing to watch this age group. Congrats to both teams!

Bink44, the 11U Stingrays finished 4th. We lost to the Ohio Pride 12U, who were playing the Sapphires when we left. We won our first 3 games today, and lost the 4th.

How did you guys do at "A"s? Look me up at Classics and we can swap stories.

Re: NSA

Congrats to the Chain Reaction 12u team for their 2nd place finish and a great weekend of softball! ?;D CR beat the Akron Sapphires earlier in the day by a score of 8-2. Congrats to the Sapphires on their win in the ship.

Chain Reaction 14u - way to play hard this weekend and come up with some big wins! You are a great group of athletes - keep working hard!

Some of the other teams that went "B" were
Chain Reaction
Valley Sting
Diamond Dogs
Struthers
And by the way - some of the "B" teams have beaten some of the "A" teams in other tournaments, so just because you go "B" doesn't mean that you aren't a good team. The pitching on some of these "B" teams stacks right up there with those on the "A" teams and there were some great athletes on the fields this weekend!! ?;D

Very good games all weekend! Congrats to all of the girls!
