Number of middle school kids on travel team

So I looked at the rules and understand 4 is the magic number. My question is, our middle school consist of 6-8 grade, do 6th graders count for that magic number even though they are not playing school ball but are from the same middle school?

6th grade would not count, nor would any 7th or 8th graders who did not actually play on the school ball team.
Also remember, that from Memorial Day until 1st week of August (National Tournaments end) - the entire school team can all play together if they so wish.....

The school coaches are allowed 10 contact days during the summer.
But someone not on the school staff can have them all play together the entire summer. Usually doesn't happen, because they can not play fall ball or practice together after the summer. But for the small schools where they are lucky if they have 2 players who play travel ball - could be a big help......
