After having to turn teams away for so long, it seems odd to be needing a 16u team at this point. Many teams haven't been able to play the last few weeks due to weather. Hopefully, we can get someone to fill this spot!

BUMP! This is an extremelly competitive and well-run tourney... realllly hoping to see the 16A field full by, say, midnight tonight. :) c'Mon, there's surely a team out there thinking, "well, we were gonna take a weekend off, but what the heck, let's do it!" haha.

just for confirmation so I can inform our parents accurately...

this is the address to the park:

J. W. Denver Williams Memorial Park
1190 Rombach Ave.
Wilmington, OH 45177

What can be brought into the park? grills? coolers?

Just want to be on the same page. Thanks!

You are correct on everything Al: address, grills and coolers. A great place to play and lots of shade if you get a tree spot :)

Thanks Al. Going to need it. Sounds like a meat grinder up there with the teams playing in it.

Take the fishing pole, too !!! They loaded that park pond up after they cleaned it out three years ago. I was mowing down there at the time and saw truckloads of fish go in there.... truckloads.

Hint to the teams for next year's event... to be able to get the shelter houses down by the pond.. you have to reserve it in advance.

Bring duck food for the little ones and watch the ducks come right up to you.
Cracked corn is nice.. bread is a wooden bridge walk to Krogers.

Basketball courts for the kids. Tennis courts.. with lights.

China Buffet.. which is about three blocks from the park.. use to have all you can eat Chinese buffet that has crab legs and prime rib on Friday nights being served. Might want to call and find out as that was a couple years back... but I'd almost bet they do. Owner is a nice guy... clean place.

Last year, I went up to the health department to see some inspection reports... and I am going to say for the record... at the time of the inspection... and businesses weren't told that it was coming....almost every restaurant passed.. except a couple and they are not out there by the park :yahoo:

Obviously, I was happy to hear such since I sometime eat in town when I am there.

But, then again, the lady who does the inspection is one "hard nose" woman.. watching over the public. Good people.

Thank her and enjoy Wilmington. Damon's next to the park is happening when it comes to food nearby and if you want REAL BBQ... go back into downtown and turn South on 68. You go until you see a Marathon station on the right at a red light. Go straight at the light and then a short distance turn right into a shopping plaza and to the left in a building standing out front is Beauragard's Southern BBQ. Melts in your mouth.

Breakfast at Frisch's, 1 block from the park and Bob Evans across the street from the Park. Not sure.. but think 7 am opening time. I had talked to them about opening early ( 6 am ) for the 8 am teams when I had one there and I use to do a count of teams that might go there that morning and if it was worth it.. they would.

What a bunch of great info! Thanks Quakerman!

This is my last request for a 16A team. Otherwise, I'll need to re-issue the pool play and post the revised bracket play tomorrow night or Tuesday.

16A teams- I will try to keep your first game the same time. If not, it will be LATER in the day, not earlier. There will now be two pools instead of three so the teams you play may need to change.

No changes to the other age/levels.

Just heard that we lost our 14A replacement team. I will now need to rework those brackets as well. I'm weary of this...

I called a couple waiting list teams, but of course, they had already entered another tourney.

Once again, if we don't pick up replacement teams today or tomorrow, we will re-issue pool times for both 14A and 16A. I will work to make sure that no teams have a pool game any earlier than originally scheduled. A game may be later.

How about more than 1 game (1pm) on Friday or no game until Saturday?

I agree, early game on Friday is not good if there is time in the schedule to move back all the games to later in the day or early Saturday. Appreciate all your work.

It just wouldn't be a tournament unless we got to play Doom 96 at least once.
