Shortly after I posted that last note the entire park went on lightning delay and raining now. If you aren't at the park call first, looks like a big impact to schedules is likely.

I'll bring down some sump pumps and utility pumps... with that much rain coming y'all are going to get your ankle socks wet in the dug outs. Been there done that.

Games starting at 11:00 are AT LEAST an hour delay. Could be a long day.

9:30 game moved to 1:00, 11 game to 2, 12:30 game to 3 and so on

BUT another heavy band should be there about 11:30, things will change again. Today may be a wash out.

How about the 10U being canceled completely WITHOUT the coaches being notified and the teams show up to play ball. Typical Pastime Park!

Merlion,

In these tough economic times, I have to get as much free advertisment for P&G to insure I keep a job there :)

Let me know if you ever need any laundry tips, I have plenty for Tide.........of course :)

I know our team played at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning- half way through our first pool game- we were on a lightning delay then the rains came- and came again. Games pushed back until 2:30 p.m.- this was still our first pool play. Then played second game behind that. Since we were a first seed- we didn't have to play until 9:30 p.m. BUT our game was pushed back until 11:00 p.m.!! Now we have to be back at the park at 8:30 a.m. and do it all over again. There were teams scheduled to play 2:00 a.m. - I'm sorry that is ridiculous. I couldn't believe the number of teams still there after we left- parking lot was still full. I do want to give Marty and his team a nice pat on the back for getting the fields together to resume play at 2:30. One item I would like to bring to Marty's attention is that he need to keep his Rain out message updated through out the delay as of right now it still had the information from Saturday's 12:10 p.m. on the message.

We played at 2 am and just got home, but that's travel ball. Marty and his crew worked their tails off getting the fields ready. I do agree, the rain out # should have been updated more often. I saw several teams that showed up way to early because the message was old.

Agree w/ John, Marty & the Pastime Crew wokred very hard to get the fields ready. I thought late yesterday morning that Sat would be a wash but they got the fields ready. We were fortunate w/ our gametimes but understand the pains of being at the park w/ long rain delays & early morning games - 2:00 & 8:00 a.m. Reminds me of our long day at the NSA States last year (Tealtown) where we were there for 16 hrs & never got in one pitch.

Who knows? We showed up this morning at 8:30 to play at 9:30 and were told everything cancelled. Our coach was not even notified until 8:20am. We were supposed to play at Mid American park as of 8:30 this morning fields had not been touched. NO EXCUSE for this kind of lack of communication.

One of the worst tournaments in communication of changes and in dealing with all of the isseus caused by rain. TD did not take into account feedback from most of the coaches and ended up making decisions such as (1) cancelling a whole day for one age group after all the teams had shown up because it was easier to move them to Sunday instead of rearranging the schedules (2) shortened bracket play for a "World Series" event to 60 minutes (originally said 50 but was talked into 60 supposedly) without gathering all the coaches together - some found out at ground rules (3) kept teams at the fields more than 20 hours and played games starting at 2am (some great games by the way played by the teams given half of them had been there since before 7am) and finally (4) cancelling a consolation bracket as mentioned above because he did not want to cancel the men's leagues games that were scheduled on Sunday evening. At least two teams had hotels two nights to play two games. I hope they get the refund they deserve and a formal apology. Rain had a large impact on the schedule, but the TD stubborness, behavoir and litany of bad decisions insured that he won't get a dime of my money ever again. Since that appeared to be the one thing he cared about most - maybe it will lead to a change in behavior. The great part of the weekend is that I saw some of the best played and umpired games this season going on and some of the games that went to ITB at 1am in the morning on Sunday at in the semis today were some of the most exciting games to watch. Congrats to all the teams for toughing out the weekend.
