Wow! Kinda harsh. Teams pick up players all the time. Her team wasn't playing, so she played with Valley Extreme Red. She is a great pitcher/all around player, but she didn't pitch every inning, hit in every run or make every defensive play in the field. They did that as as TEAM. They won Pony Nationals as a TEAM. Erin is a great girl and fit right in with all her new teammates. She was a fantasic addition to an already strong team. 57-3 before that tournament isn't what I'd call weak.

I will pile on while its hot!...sounds like you have never seen VE red play..im sure Erin did her part to help..but the other 11 are a great group of girls that can play softball!
slammers did it last year..and im sure someone will do it next year.

For the rest of you that can't acknowledge the rest of valley extreme red for what they have accomplished and to those 3 other pitchers that have helped them achieve a total record of 109-7-1. You were 12 amazing girls in the 12 and under division and to you hats off!!!!!!!

I am baffled by adult comments after a positive outcome by a team that has achieved 9 championships, 1 second place finish, 3rd place at compuware and now a National Championship. Do you ever think about what a 11 or 12 year old thinks after they read your comments.( say it to their face after they hustle off the field so you can see their expression on their face. )

If you can't post positive comments then don't post. Remember this isn' t an adult only site.

People have opinions but let the record stand for what it is. The Valley Extreme Red 12U TEAM has a record of 86 wins and 5 losses since fall ball. Check the Valley Extreme website--all of these scores are posted. They did play in a high school summer league in Mineral Ridge and Austintown. They won the B championship in that league with a record of 15 wins 2 losses and a tie. If combined they have a record of 101 wins, 7 losses, and 1 tie. 12U Valley Extreme Red is an outstanding TEAM. But they aren't the only outstanding team at 12U. Ohio Slammers, Lady Lasers Silver, and Tidal Waves are top notch programs at 12U this year. I have not seen teams from Central and Southern Ohio play this year---but I know they have some solid programs at all levels such as the Stingrays, Doom, Ohio Classics, etc.........Focus on the positive that all these teams accomplish. When a team from Ohio can win a National Championship I believe a simple congratulations is in order. I want to wish all Ohio teams good luck this week at the various ASA tournaments. I also want to thank Erin Gabriel for joining our TEAM for the Pony Nationals. She started 3 of the 11 games as our pitcher and she performed as a champion. Lindsay Swipas, Leanne Schaffer, and Bailey Shade all pitched extremely well at the Pony Nationals also. Good luck girls at the ASA Eastern Regional in York, Pa. this week.

The fact that you would say that about 12 year old girls is ridiculous...one girl does not make the team...and we dont have this problem in mens softball (I am leading my team in homeruns with 3...playoffs are approaching i will keep you updated)

Good luck to the Valley Extreme 16U Red and Blue teams and the 18U team as they begin play this week at the Pony Nationals. Keep it in the Valley and represent Ohio well.

way to go valley extreme red ! Glad we are NOT in your pool at York. Our team was signed up for the B Tourney in Harrisburg (where we belong) but when I got back from 10 days of vacation I learned we are in the A with you in York.
