Don’t know the breakdown by age, but when training, I suggest tracking the time from catch to release and time it’s takes the ball from the release to get to second. In 16u, a quick release is 0.8 seconds and strong arm can keep the ball flight time to less than 1.0 second. At younger ages, work on footwork and transfer speed while arm strength improves with age.
