The Sapphires were among the highest finishing Ohio teams this year (Laser Gold 18u) - congratulations Sapphires, it was fun watching and rooting for you all day today. John Deluca said that no Ohio team had ever won an NSA A championship ? - so this is almost as close as you can come, so close. Now, get some well deserved sleep!

Congrats to the 12u Indy Shockwave and the runner-up Jersey Intensity, two tough teams. Also, congrats to the 3rd place Frost Falcons (all 11u) - see you next year!

Congratulations to the WV Dusters 14U. What a way to end the season for this group. I am not sure of our finish, but going 6-2 and losing out to the the Louisiana Crushers Saturday afternoon must put us in the the top 8 teams. By the way, about 50% of our girls are from southeastern Ohio, and the rest from along the Ohio river in Huntington and Point Pleasant WV, I would say that along with the MV Express Red, Sapphires and Wolfpack Black, it was a pretty good showing the Ohio and WV teams. :)

If I read the bracket right, Lasers Gold finished 2nd at 18U.

This would be Ohio's highest place.

16u Winner! The Indy Diamond Chix. They only gave up three runs in the tournament, and only two that were earned.

The Chattanooga Force won.

I don't have a score. They never left the winners bracket. Congrats to all. The 14u week was a pretty positive experience and I'm sure everyone is still exhausted today!

The brackets online seem to be complete (if correct, I don't know - they had our team name listed incorrectly all the way through). Looks like Tampa won the first championship game 8-1 over the Chattanooga Force, but the Force won the "what if" game 1-0. That's 2 years in a row for a Chattanooga team at NSA A (last year the Fillies). Must be a good city for softball.

Anyone know what time they finished?

16u finished at 10:15 , and the awards ended about 11.
There was still one game going on as we drove out of the park.

Congratulations to all Ohio teams that participated in the NSA World Series, but especially to the Ohio Ice Black 16U that finished 5th.

On Saturday morning, the Ice Black opened against the Ohio Attack winning 2 to 0.

The next game, Ice Black beat the Delco Rage from PA 5 to 2, putting the Ice Black in the final eight of the winners bracket.

Next up, the Ice Black lost to the Pittsburgh Spirit Black 5 to 2, dropping Ice into the losers bracket.

In the afternoon, Ice Black beat Lady Lasers Red 4 to 2.

The exit game for Ice Black was a come-from-behind 5 to 4 loss to the Silver Bullets (PA).

Once again, Congratulations to the girls of Ice Black for a very successful summer season,

finishing 5th at the WS,
1st at the NSA States,
1st at GAPPS,
1st at the Columbus NSA Berliner,
1st at the Slams Series II,
1st at the Indiana U of Pa Tourney, and
in the final four at the Sluggerfest Tourney

Good Luck to all teams!!

Powerhouse15,

Top 4 in 12u were:

1. Indy Shockwaves (3 consecutive incl 10's & then as 11's last year in 12u) ?- very experienced "calm" club
2. Jersey Intensity (lost 6-0 in finals = 1 bad inning, mostly) - Shockwaves beat them earlier in day 13-1 (only losses in C-bus were to Shockwaves)
3. Frost Falcons (all 11's) - lost in Winner final to Shockwaves with tying runs in scoring position at final out, then ran into a wall in Loser final to Jersey Intensity (lotsa heart)
4. Huntsville Sparks - another fine club
5/6/7. Central FL Lady Hatters / Hustlers (LA) / Generation X (AL) - not exactly sure of order but they were all fighting it out for places on Saturday as the last teams standing. ?

Really enjoyed chatting with the 'Bama people about "the softball life", travel, fundraising, and such - hope you enjoyed Ohio! Also, hope you got to see the mecca of college football up the road "a piece" - the Horshshoe, before you left ..... ?;)
