You'd think that these were official standings or something the way they squabble. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have to admit coming back down from 18's, I was not ready for how into games the parents of the 10u's are. They for sure lack perspective.

I love going to my little nuggets games and watching the parents go nuts, man can they be vicious!! It's crazy!!

Right now I'd have to put Buckeye Heat 97 and Lasers Orange at the top of my poll. Heat has the edge in pitching, but the orange gets the edge at the plate and with the leather. Classics 97 gets a nod also, they are improved from last year.

Look for the Buckeye Elite to make some noise , they can put runs up , but will pitching and D be good enough to be a top ten team ? nearly whole team are HS freshman with a few that had strong HS seasons

Buckeye Elite is a very good hitting team that can play good defense. We beat them in bracket play 5-3, then they returned the favor when we got knocked down to the losers bracket 2-1. Their SS made every play that she should make, and quite a few that she shouldn't have made. The Buckeye Heat 97 team looked like a top team the last two days, and didn't so much today, losing to the Static 3-1, and Buckeye Elite 2-1. The final 6 in the Dayton Metro were BH 97, Static, Laser Orange, Buckeye Elite, Classics 97, and Vipers Silver. On any given day, any of these teams will beat the others. Everyone seemed to think we were the team to beat this weekend, and then we were beat, twice! Hopefully, we can return the favor very soon.

Classics over Buckeye Elite in losers bracket semifinal.

Lasers Orange is leading Classics 97 in losers bracket final 9-2

Looks like it will be Orange vs Static for a third (and possibly fourth) time this weekend.

Buckeye Elite reminds me of Team PA, very sizable girls that can really move. Lack of a short game is made up by their ability to hit.

Static wasn't in my top teams entering into this weekend but Kavin has continued his winning tradition with the new additions to the team. Added slappers has diversified his lineup and keeps the defense on its toes. They will be on my list this week.

Ohio Nightmare 14u should get some nods in the pools. Very good team with great speed and ability to make things happen. Without playing other noted teams in the list here my ability to vote is limited... they are surely notable and I'm just throwing this out there.

Props should go out to a lot of teams I got to see or coach against this weekend in the Metro especially Lasers Orange - Rex & his coaching staff do one heck of a job. Most are mentioned above but one that is not is the Hawks from C-bus. Their players & coaching staff are all around top notch. Also, this was our first experience getting to meet the Buckeye Elite players/coaches/parents - what a great group of people & a very talented team.

As far as any list goes about top teams, no one cares as their are a ton of good teams out there. In fact, we have a long way to go to even be considered a good team & do not want to appear on any list as they are just that - a list.

Best of luck to everyone. Stay safe & play hard.

Good finals game in Beavercreek last night with Ohio Nightmare 14U winning against a very good hitting Cincy Static 98 team 11-7. The fun hot weekends ahead will keep getting more interesting, hopefully the rain free weekends continue.

It will be a very interesting 14U season. The Static, Lasers Orange, and Classics are my top three to start the season. The Buckeye Elite can rope the ball, and Vipers Silver will be in the mix. Hawks-Buelow can beat anybody. I haven't seen Wave 97 or Nightmare yet (we play them in our first pool game this coming weekend at the Region 9 Qualifier). I'd like to see the Static 98 team, and Classics 98 are tough. Lasers Grey have already won their berth to SD, and they are only getting better. Lenos' Hawks team can play too. Any given weekend, it wouldn't surprise me to see all these teams on top. Good luck to all again.

we played Wave 97 twice, split with them. Nice team for sure. Hoosier Pride 98 (Indianapolis location) was real tough too. They battled in at least 2 or 3 ITB's with the Nightmare... awesome game to watch. We luckily got to play a warn out Pride team ;-). Lots of solid teams in the 14u's and could be anyone's game. After seeing several games early Saturday morning at the Metro, the older teams are for sure hard to stand toe to toe with all day. They are fast, strong, and very disciplined.

Nightmare pitches well and we had to swing a ton to keep up with their scoring ability. Nothing wrong losing in a dog fight. Let's just say... speed kills, yeah, no surprise. They got some speedsters running the bags like crazy!!!

Sorry Kavin, I know you don't want to be on a list and that is admirable. Unfortunately I have to put you up there. You have an exciting competitive bunch of young ladies that are fun to watch (great group of parents also).

Good luck in Oklahoma.

Congrats to Static. We were excited to finish 4th and to know we were the only team to beat the champs during the weekend was a great accomplishment for our org. We will see everyone at the Laser tourney this weekend.

Thanks - as I mentioned it was great to get to know you guys this weekend & what an impressive group of young ladies you have. Also & what most dont know is that you were playing shorthanded this weekend w/ one of your main pitchers unable to throw due to an injury. I think she threw almost every inning & I talked to her at the end & she was definitely worn out but has the heart of a lion & was still smiling!!!

Collectively our pool (Laser Orange /Buckeye Elite/Static 97) prepared our teams for bracket play as all three teams finished in the top four for the tourny. Also, the Lasers did beat us in the first championship game 2-1.

Good luck in Lasers to all.

Of the teams I have seen and or played I would rank the following tier1: (no sig in order listed) Buckeye Heat 97, Static 97, Lasers Orange, Classics 97, - right behind them at tier 2 would be: Buckeye elite, Hawks Buelow, lasers gray, vipers silver, hawks lenos and others that i know are tough (most of these I have not seen play): static 98, hawks shepherd, nightmare, Nitro, Hawks Hoff 97 - and I know there are more - one thing that keeps some very good teams from getting recognized is the tourneys they play in .. for example the Metro was a great one to have your team seen and measured up against the best 14u's .. if you are not playing those teams, your team can't be accurately measured and get credit for how good they are. It always amazes me how many really good teams schedule around the harder venues.

All in all the 14u age is very interesting - there are a lot of very good teams that any given game can win- that was evidenced by the very few blowouts at 14u last weekend in the Metro - several 3-5 run wins but that is normal - very few RR's at all....
