these Slammers went to the lasers, i think thou its for 2010 a 16u team
# 1 Cammi Prantl CF
# 5 Jayla Saibene SS
# 7 Erika Warren C
# 30 Casey Burns 1B
# 33 Brittanie Fowler P = 65mph with great pitches and movment D1 college bound i am sure
# 66 Chandler Rice

Sorry, the Slammer Pitcher turned Lasers has since moved on to NJ Intensity. So, this new girl should get some decent reps if she is truly a Laser94 member now.

2010 14u pre season rankings:

1. Doom95 (based on 2009 tie for 33rd place at ASA Nationals. Only 14u team from Ohio returning with ASA National experience from last year.)
2. Outlaws/(Now the - Ohio INtensity) - Bill Lilley coached and simply based on training & skills they will contend with the best. Should move up over time. Not to mention some fantastic athletes and physical specimens.
3. Laser Black - Mystery Team for me, just keep hearing great things about them.
4. Laser Gold (would have rated higher after GAPSS performance last year, but hearing several changes occurred and not sure if good, bad, or indifferent
5. Buckeye Heat95 - Huge upgrade in speed and athleticism from last year, played great at QDS last fall
6. EMR95 - Solid, but do they have they picked up another top pitcher and some more offense in off season???
7. Stingrays 95 - tough going last year, but always come back strong, strong org.
8. Ohio Hawks Gold - SLEEPER, that will come up and bite many this year... Skies the limit if they get second top tier pitcher.
9. Coach Murph's NEW TEAM. Sorry name escapes me.. They will move up FAST after first couple weekends in 2010.
10. Doom96, one of those 13us that can't be counted out with great pitching and some pop to boot. 1-2 players from being absolutely dynamite.

You should have stated "that Laser pitcher, turned Slammer pitcher, turned Lasers pitcher...."

Will really be a good year at 14u - will give my thoughts on rankings

1. Doom 95
2. Intensity
3. Lasers Gold
4. Lasers Black
5. Lasers Silver (I am seeing a trend here)
6. Buckeye Heat
7. Classics 96
8. Valley Extreme
9. Stingrays Wiley
10. EMR 95

Don't count out Laser teams - they are always tough. The girls that stayed on the Laser Silver team are very good. I heard they picked up a good pitcher and have a heck of a hitting team so don't count them out. Gold will be good - it is Jeff's team. That Black team is really good and their close proximity allows them to practice so they will only get better.

Hopefully, Championship fastpitch can crack that top 10 sometime during the season. We are playing Stingrays, Compuware and Gapps so time will tell. Here is hoping this is the shortest winter on record - give me some global warming.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year:

Murph:

Great to hear from you! I've no doubt the coaching staffwill have this new team in great playing form come the 2010 TB season. Are you guys playing States? If so, that will be the first tourney we'll get to see you. Otherwise, it will be Stingrays, the first couple of days in your back yard. Hope we can find time to catch up with each other.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

HEADS UP for those of you with CABIN FEVER and want to catch what should be some exciting and good ball this Sunday 1/24/10 @ Kent State............................

The Ohio Intensity and Doom95 are facing off at 10:00am at Kent State on Sunday. I know it's just indoor ball, kids missing, .... and all that other stuff that isn't really like outdoor ball, but SHOULD be some great ball to watch between these two.

Great to hear. Who did they pick up? Scott and Team must be stoked!
Scott is stoked... she is a very strong pitcher from up north, really rounds out his squad - I let him have the honor revealing her identity - ..

There are some strong 14u teams in the list(s) - going to be fun watching them go at it...

14U Ohio Power will be a team to watch out for. Played in 1 NSA tourney and won a birth to the NSA Nationals losing to the Ohio Elite. We have great pitchers and fantastic coaching.

That was the first young lady they picked up, the second, Kylee, is almost a clone physically (tall, long wing span) of Shannon (who btw really works hard on her game - great kid) with a diff mix of pitches... they should push each other all year...

hopefully all families made it home safe from KSU - 4 hrs of driving in a constant hard rain for me. But we made it. Hard to tell much by any results . Doom 95 split our 2 games. 5 or 4-2 over intensity. loss by the same 4 or 5-2 to the classics. Classics surprised me a bunch , knew they had to be good but did'nt expect that level of pitching. WOW , 2 good ones ! they will turn heads in the 14u field no doubt. other than that it was typical indoor jan ball. balls off nets , short time limits , very few aB's for the hitters. MD
