It's absolutely true (*Except for the cases where it isn't)
This might be the average of the girls they analyzed but that does not mean if your 5'5" you'll never pitch D1. If you can fill a need you will have an opportunity.
We have helped over 45 girls with receiving D1 Athletic Scholarships over the last few years and I would say the majority of them were close to those findings some not up to those and others beyond those.
Remember that is probably a average. I do believe that the biggest things missing from this is the girls heart, and work ethic. Which can take you along ways, and can't be taught!
Obviously the height and weight categories are static. But, for the statistics are they talking about High School figures or Travel Ball figures or both combined?
As for average statistics, one could assume if you under perform in one area you will need to over perform in another, ie. if your home to first is over 3, you better be able to produce more than 20 rbi's and 2 HR. That's my take on it anyway.
Unless your school is the exception and not the norm, HS stats are inflated and most competition is lacking. This renders HS stats worthless. Again, that's my take on it.
"Unless your school is the exception and not the norm, HS stats are inflated and most competition is lacking. This renders HS stats worthless."
So very true.
