. Wow.. Questioning a coach probably wouldn't be good thing since u are a coach yourself. Have u ever coached in a game of that magnitude? It's easy to set in the stands and question the coaches decisions. Keep that in mind this spring when you blow a few games for your squad

Oh yea, nobody should question coaches. In order of rank. 1) God 2) Coaches 3) President of the USA **Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Just because he or she doesn't agree with you, that doesn't mean they will "blow" games.

LOL SEC fans talk about the SEC like their favorite NFL team is the NFC. I will always say "WE" when talking about the Buckeyes without apology and I don't really give a damn about the whole state of Michigan or what you think.

To say Buckeye fans are the most obnoxious after listening to a bunch of hillbillies "hoop and holler" for the past decade is laughable. I love when people break out the past records (I.E. Michigan and now team SEC) because that means they have nothing to say about NOW!

Hawaiidreaming - Point taken about SEC this year! With a 10 year run like they had I can see how they would get the love they got. As good ole Ric Flair said "to be the man you got to beat the man". and well SEC took some uppercuts this year. Ended up 7-5 in bowl games so not a total loss. Also remember ESPN is in bed with them so they will keep getting the love.
Its like dating the hottest girl back in the day, you have that on your resume and you keep using it, especially when you are down.

Alabama was not the Bama of old. Miss.State ended the season badly. Ole Miss had those 4 bad season ending injuries to key players that killed them. Texas A.M. and LSU fell off the map. Hate to say this but the SEC East is not very good anymore.
But I still say SEC (even down some) is still top dog, but slimmest of margins.

I agree with that. However I feel that is going to change quickly and it started last week. The hiring of Kim Hairball up north, Dantonio still doing his thing with Sparty, James Franklin recruiting at PSU, Nebraska/ Wisconsin will be ok, and TOSU is young and poised to make some runs. In 2 years, the top dog will have changed IMO.

Impact18s I believe a lot of the same, bringing in some top dog coaching will help the BIG10 overall success...but some of the other schools still need to step up and open their pockets to improve their football programs.

Why has the SEC been so successful in recent years? The whole darn conference spends and treats football just like TOP programs in the country do...whereas the BIG10 a few programs see that level of support, but schools like Indiana, Illinois, etc really live off a few schools efforts in that sport. When a few of the B10 bottom feeding programs start spending on coaches and facilities like the SEC does, the difference will really be seen.

If you look at Basketball, the SEC and B10 efforts are kind of flipped...the SEC Kentucky really goes all in on hoops, but many of the bottom feeding schools just do 'enough' to get by. The B10 in hoops, almost the whole conference puts a strong effort in their programs in order to win. I can only guess why the efforts aren't as balanced in football as it is in hoops, except that $$ spent on football can add up a lot quicker...

I guess as long as Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Northwestern etc (I'll give NW a pass, they do help the leagues 'GPA' ;) ) .... keep getting big checks from the B10 TV Network, and an occasional Bowl Game check, don't see that changing. The additions of Maryland and Rutgers are 2 schools that have never been about big time football either...(how Kirk Ferentz at Iowa keeps getting his large checks amazes me)

But current coaching at tOSU, Sparty's, UoM, PSU, and hopefully the new guys at solid programs Wiscy & Nebraska will make a bright future.

I agree. But as a self proclaimed proud homer, I really don't care about the bottom half of the B1G as I don't see us being there anytime soon. Minnesota hopefully will remain around a 6-9 win team, that would help. They should! They have the facilities and a big city to support them. Iowa needs to step up as well. Northwestern will be decent 3 out of 5 years. Rutgers and MD are going to be forever average. Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue may get a team per decade. The only perennial bottom feeder in the SEC is Vandy. What I am concerned with is 1) What TOSU does vs SEC #1 in the post season and 2) what the other top teams do vs SEC top 5 teams. I could not care less if Indiana beats Vanderbilt in the Aflac Mid America Bowl.

The B!G should re-align with the old division names model:

Contenders Division- Gets 60% revenue from BTN. Last place team gets bumped to pretenders division next season.
Ohio State
Michigan State
Wisconsin
Michigan
Penn State
Minnesota
Iowa

Pretenders Division - Gets 40% revenue from BTN. 1st place team gets bumped next year to contenders.
Indiana
Illinois
Northwestern
Rutgers
Maryland
Purdue

PLEASE!!! I mean really? I seen and watched the Paul Finebaum show just for kicks. And all I've heard for the first 8 weeks of the college football season was how dominating the SEC was. How no one could compare. How it would be SEC vs SEC in the final game.

Well, I guess none of it happened and all Bama lovers got a taste of humble pie.

I seen, and watched (my 5th grade teacher just rolled over in her grave) the same Finebaum clip on ESPN. Lol

Our 3rd string QB is better than Alabama's #1, and that isn't even close. It's not about B1G vs SEC... I frankly don't care a lot about the other B1G teams except it was nice to shut all those blow hards up this year. But TOSU was clearly better than the SEC's best.

We, our, and my should be reserved for players and coaches of the team in subject. Just my opinion

True... good point... those who live in glass houses.... right?
In all honesty I was just trying to sound intelligent and respond to what Apogee and JoeA were talking about. Guess I kinda shot myself in the foot by starting off with "I was screaming at the TV..." Thanks Frosty!

I come from SEC country and I can honestly say that OSU fans are among the top most irritating fans in football....

And there you have it!... finally an SEC fan who admits OSU is at the top!

Go BUCKEYES!

SEC was a bit down this year, but they still are the standard. Urban made a questionable play call on 1st down, but he still is a great coach. All that matters is OSU won and is now going to be playing in the National Championship game. Go Bucks!

This whole thread proves OSU fans are some of the most insane on the planet.

Urban is 37-3 in his 3 years so far.

Went 12-0 first year but could not win anything (finished 3rd in Country)
So basically has won 2 B10 titles in 3 years and has the Bucks in a first true Nat Championship Playoff Game in D1 history.

3-0 against Michigan

Lost to MSU in the B10 Champ game
Lost to Clemson in Bowl game
Lost to Va Tech with newbie QB....

Literally 1 regular season loss in 3 years. But you are probably right Urban needs to get his melon out of his backside....LOL.

Urban Meyer is the best college football coach in America. Better than Saban. He will put a hurting on the B10 for years to come.

Where I think he will always struggle at times is against MSU and Dantonio. Just because Dantonio is a genius and just plain tough as nails. Nothing rattles him and win or lose he will just keep coming at you. And well I am a huge MSU fan so hey someone had to give OSU a game.

And I think the SEC has the most talented players in the Nation but the B10 has the best coaching top to bottom. While I would take many of the players from the SEC. The only coaches I would really want in the Country instead of Dantonio are Urban Meyer and honestly Tressel (I loved Tressel....top notch coach and person).

Intriguing twist from SEC bashing to B10 praising. ...I am begging but may the scheduling wizards see this need and fill it. I was mislead when I thought the Bucs would keep Texas on the schedule and develop a B12 rivalry way back when... now I have hope of further Mason/Dixon line matchups prior to a championship. P-l-e-a-s-e make it happen... for the children, orphans, and little ol' me so I can tell my southern cousins where they can stuff it.

SMc... scheduling wizards must have heard you and beefed up the non-conference schedule with a heavy dose of the Big 12. 2016 and 2017 we have Oklahoma... 2018 we have Oregon St and TCU, 2019 TCU... 2020 and 2021 we have Oregon (no southern team yet)... 2022 and 2023 we have both Notre Dame AND TEXAS! Looks like you're getting what you wanted... mostly!
