CONWAY, Ark. — The Goshen College softball team toppled its first ranked opponent in five years on Friday, knocking off the 21st-ranked team in the NAIA while splitting a pair of games at Central Baptist College's Mustang Meltdown. The Maple Leafs upset LSU-Alexandria 4-2 before dropping a 7-2 decision to Lyon College.
Emily Cummings pitched a 2-hitter and didn't allow an earned run in the victory while also lashing a double on offense. Five Maple Leafs had hits and three of them also reached on walks.
