Chickasha, Okla. – The No. 2-ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers won by scores of 11-2 and 8-0 over the Friends University Falcons today (Feb. 22) in Chickasha, Okla. The Drovers have now won 54 straight games at home.

USAO starting pitcher Emily Cerny helped her own cause by singling home the first two runs of the opening game in the bottom of the first.

The Drovers then capitalized on a pair of Falcon errors to score four more runs in the second.

After USAO added another run in the fourth, Kat Davis (SO/Keller, Texas) blasted a two-run homer to center field to put the Falcons on the board in the top of the fifth.

But the Drovers scored one in the bottom of the inning and then a two-run homer by Kindle Nelms capped a three-run sixth to finish the game.

Hali Walters (JR/Longmont, Colo.) started and went 5.2 innings for the Falcons, giving up 11 runs but only six earned due to four errors. She struck out six and walked just one.

Cerny struck out 10 and allowed two runs over six innings for the Drovers.

Davis was 2-of-3 at the plate in the first game for Friends (2-8).

Michal Hylton then shut out the Falcons in the second tilt on four hits with five strikeouts.

Michelle Kroell (FR/Clovis, Calif. ) kept the Drovers off the board for the first two innings before a two-run double by Madelyn Blair keyed a four-run third inning.

The Drovers (10-2) tacked on two more in the fifth and a two-run homer by Randa Hatter concluded the game in the sixth.

The Falcons will next host a tri-game vs. Baker University and Doane University on Feb. 29 at the Two Rivers Youth Complex.
