St. Ambrose pitchers combined to allow just seven hits and one run in sweeping a doubleheader from Robert Morris Tuesday night in Bensenville, Ill. The Bees won the opener 10-0 in six innings before taking the second game 6-1.

Colleen Barrett, Christina Pembrook and Makena McConnaughhay each had two hits and combined for five RBIs and four runs scored in the first game.

The Bees were held hitless through three innings before coming alive in the fourth. Morgan Krieger, Karley Kopaska and McConnaughhay each drove in a run as part of a four-run inning that gave SAU a 4-0 lead.

St. Ambrose then broke things open in the sixth. McConnaughhay, MaKenna Butcher, Olivia McClintock and Barrett had RBIs before Pembrook hit a two-run triple to up the lead to 10-0. Six of the Bees' 10 hits came in the sixth inning.

Pembrook earned the win after tossing five innings of two-hit ball. She struck out four. Ella Specht worked a perfect sixth inning in relief.

Specht carried that over to the nightcap, where she went the distance, allowing five hits and one run in the complete-game victory.

Tara Lance (3-for-4) and Briana Olson (2-for-4) provided most of the offense, combining for five of the team's nine hits and driving in four runs.

Lance and Olson each had an RBI as part of a three-run third inning that helped SAU take a 4-1 lead. They added RBIs in the fifth to account for the final two Bee runs. McClintock and McConnaughhay also drove in runs for the Bees.

SAU is next scheduled to host Cardinal Stritch Wednesday at 3:30 on Senior Day.
