A first-inning two-run homer was all top-seeded Southern Oregon needed, as the NAIA Opening Round hosts downed Simpson on the first day of the NAIA Softball National Championships. The Raiders ran past the Red Hawks 9-1 at US Cellular Field in Medford, Ore. With the loss, SU falls into the loser's bracket, and will face second-seed St. Francis (Ill.) in an elimination contest at 1:30 p.m., PST, on May 15.
