[Softball] Tigers defeat Bears 7-1
Georgetown College softball responded to an early run by Shawnee State University, winning its first elimination bracket game Sunday morning in Bowling Green, Ky. The Mid-South Conference Tournament hit a wall of rain Saturday, pushing all games back a day. The Tigers (32-16) will need to win two more games to advance to Monday's championships round.
GC handed SSU a 7-1 setback, ending the Bears season at 27-22. Shawnee scored first as third baseman Michal Cunningham doubled, moved to third on Ashtyn Saunders' single and scored on Marisa Brown's sacrifice fly.
