Would love to hear a brief recap of the 14U championship game between Indy Dreams and Wolfpack Black. Having played both teams twice, I was surprised at the outcome (of course, the Dreams beat the Wolfpack at Compuware, too, but I was equally surprised and didn't see that game either).

What happened to the 14 Power? I didn't figure they would fold there tents that early in the day.

JB, I am sure it was an oversight but you missed the congrats for the spirit gold on thier final 4 finish.Where did you finish up? We were looking for you on sunday but couldn't find you, we always enjoy watching you play.

At Compuware, these two teams (indy dreams & wolfpack black) matched up and wolfpack black lost in international tie breaker. ?

This past weekend, wolfpack played 5 straight back to back games in 100 degree heat to get to the championship game. ?

In the championship game, wolfpack black was ahead 3-0 most of the game until one bad inning, which put a very good indy dreams team ahead by two I think. ?Wolfpack came back and score was 5-4. ?The game ended with wolfpack having runners on 3rd and 2nd bases with 2 outs. ?Indy dreams brought in another pitcher. ?wolfpack got the hit but dreams made the out at 1st. ?This is how I remember it, correct me if I am wrong. Great game.

Congratulations Indy dreams. ?We hope to meet up with you again! And great job wolfpack. We're proud of you!!

Could someone post all the games and scores for the wolfpack black for the entire weekend.

We picked a bad time to have an off weekend hitting (I don't know if there is a "good time" to slump). ?

Here's a recap of our weekend:
Pool play game 1 - started off with a win over the Miami Valley Express "Blue"
Pool play game 2 - got shutout by Team Indiana to finsh pool play as the #2 seed. ?I think the Team Indiana pitcher was the best 14U pitcher we've faced this year...tall dark haired young lady...good speed, nice variety of pitches and top-notch on location.
Bracket play game 1 - started off with a win over the Buckeye Heat
Bracket play game 2 - got spanked by the Indy Dreams. ?Scored ?1 run and allowed 5 unearned ... sure recipe for a loss ...
Bracket play game 3 - got shutout by Comp-u-ware. ?Great 0-0 game until the bottom of the 6th ... defensive meltdown

In the 3 losses to Indy Dreams (1st), Team Indiana (3rd) and Comp-u-ware (T5th) we scored a grand total of 1 run. ?Cold bats combined with excellent pitching sent us home earlier than we expected.

Congrats to Indy Dreams, Wolfpack "Black" and all of the top finishers. ?You earned it!

Does anybody know what place the Akron Sapphires 14U team came in? Just wondering becuase i know they have done very well in other tournaments this year.

Since the Sapphires lost to the Lady Lasers-Green and they lost the next game to tie for 5th I am guessing the Sapphires were in a tie for 7th.

Sapphires played real well, I believe their 1st loss was to Team Indiana.

Thanks for the update, sounds a lot like our game in the semis of the winners bracket against the Dreams. Gave them 2 runs in the first and were still down 3-1 in the 7th when we scored to make it 3-2 and had runners on 2nd & 3rd but just couldn't push the last one across. Had played them at Compuware and beat them 3-2, they have a nice team and you can figure whoever makes a mistake will lose.

Good luck to the Wolfpack Black the rest of the way, that's a real nice team. You going to NSAs?

Thanks for your posts/comments. Yes, we will be attending the NSAs next week. We did qualify for ASA at the Fairborn ASA national qualifier, but we declined it because plans had already been made to attend NSA.
