Looking for another 16u team. One had to drop.

Call me at 419-509-9907 as I will be gone for most of the weekend and will not see a PM or email until late Sunday evening.

1 spot in the 16u is open. 14u teams welcomed to play if they wish to play up.

Me, too !!! Actually, I had thought about it for this weekend when I set the date for it and changed my mind and didn't want to compete with Jamie's Massillon since it is a great event to play in for the girls at this age group to be seen by college coaches and there is room for another date instead.

Indian Summer and 74 degrees and sunny for our Sunday

You just have to believe in it and it will be

Next year.....all the Uniform Blowout - Northeast age divisions will be one weekend at one location.

Cold Blast from Monday, October 18th through Friday the 22nd and then clearing skies and warmer on Saturday with Sunday the perfect day for the Uniform Blowout.

Actually, when I picked this date as a secondary date... I was checking the Farmer's Almanac for weather on a calendar at a friend's house... and it actually calls for clearing on Friday , then warmer on Saturday with Sunny skies on Sunday in Great Lakes and NorthEast region of the United States.

I hope they are right

There will be a "Meet and Eat" prior to the beginning of the tournament at the Big Boy Restaurant located at 1047 Tuscarawas Avenue in Dover, Ohio starting at 7 AM.

I hope the teams/parents can meet there before the contests that morning.

Hope to see you there !!!

Map to the location: http://www.travels.com/business-big-boy-restaurant-330-364-7797/ The "City Park" at the top/middle of the map is the location of the tournament.

Sounds like warmer weather for Sunday. Slight chance for showers on Saturday night. Have been in contact with the Parks and Recreation division.

I will be up in Dover on Saturday morning montioring any adverse weather conditions.

I will be sending out the packet to coaches today with the information about the event and they can forward that onward to the parents and players alike.

Can't wait to see all of you there. I can't wait to show the teams the options for the 2nd place hoodies that they have. This supplier has some cool looking hoodies.

I have 5 sized hoodies ( S, M, LG, X-LG and XXL ) for the girls to try on to pick their size so we can order after the tournament. I LOVE these tie-dyed hoodies that they have.... they are sharp !!!!

Please Note: The field numbers have been inserted above.

Fields # 7 and # 8 are the two fields on the left when entering the park. ( I believe the 2nd and 3rd fields on the left )

Fields # 4 and # 5 are the two fields in the back of the park on the right.

Plenty of parking there and the parking set up is one (1) long row of parking and you will understand why I say for safety purposes you might want to parked back in as not only the traffic from the teams.. but traffic from other park visitors as well drive down through the parking area.

NO Tournament T-shirt sales will be on sale. Talked with Rick Moorehead about selling some of the OFC shirts at the concession stand instead of tournament Tee's . Large and extra large sizes. We'd be the first ( 1st ) tournament in Ohio to sell the OFC shirt :D. It benefits all of us as the funds support the OFC website costs... and who has one  I have seen one Dad wearing one at a tournament this past summer. Good reason to buy one. I know I want one. Rick's daughter and son had one design on a hoodie and it was SHARP !!! The price of the T-Shirt would be $15.00 with ALL proceeds going to that "electricity eating website" we call OFC.;)

Coolers are indeed welcomed. I should know by Wednesday morning IF a non-profit group is coming in to run the concession stand. When talking with Scott Jerles of the Dover Parks.. I asked him to find a local girl's softball organization to run the concession so it may help them financially this coming year.

Afterall, what is better than girls softball teams playing and at the same time helping another girl's softball org out.

Parents with boys... there are tennis courts and basketball courts and from what I am told, Disc Golf magazine rated the Dover Park disc ( Frisbee) course as Number #1 in the State of Ohio :yahoo:

Parents: Lawnchairs are my best advice as always at all tournaments.

*******************************************************

We are having a team's "Meet and Eat" at Shoney's Restaurant at 7:15 am to 8:30 am.. The fields are only 5 minutes away from restaurant. Love to see some of the teams get together before the tournament and even after the tournament is over as well ( if you can't make it to the morning session ). I'd like to get the Shoney's company to become a sponsor of this event in 2011 and then maybe I can take that money and apply it to hoodies for 3rd and t-shirts for 4th place and then the ALL the girls get something !!!! :yahoo:

A heads up from the parents .... if they are coming to the "Meet and Greet" and via email to your coach/Team Mom so he/she can email to me a somewhat total ... would be nice so they can be staffed to handle us softball junkies  and have plenty of fruit and things on the bar for the girls to eat early.

TOURNAMENT RULES

1. There is NO rules !!!

2. Bat 11.. any nine in the field. Free substitution in line up as many times you want as long as the player goes back into the same batting order spot. NO out for injured player leaving the game OR a player having another committment to attend. The line-up is just squeezed. Pitcher can have one or both feet on the rubber as this is an all sanctioned tournament. Pitcher MUST release with 10 seconds after stepping on the rubber.

3. Full games of 7 innings are to be played. NO ties can happen. ITB will be used but with a twist. The last two outs are to be placed on third base AND second base to start out the extra inning after 7.

4. Run Rules are: 10 after 3 innings, 8 after 4 innings and 7 after 5 innings.

5. Tie Breakers: a) Best overall record, b) Head to Head, c) runs given up, d) runs scored and e) 2 inning playoff under ITB rules stated above. I hate coin flips.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the first year of the Uniform Blowout that I ever had to worry about second place prize to be given. So three (3) teams with 2 wins - 1 loss records can indeed happen. Tie breaker order could indeed come into play.

Forecast is looking better all the time....

Cloudy, 75 and a slight chance of a shower. 15% percent chance was last posted.

Rain coming in late in the evening on Sunday... just the way we like it. LATE

I have heard from people and teams just coming to WATCH the tournament.

Waiting on word on the concession and OFC T-Shirts as well that will be sold at the tournament. Should hear back sometime today about both issues. Love to find the local girls org to run the concessions. I know Scott , with the Park, is trying his best to find that local org so we can support them.

If teams can't make it for the morning session of the "Meet and Greet".. I hope they maybe will think about coming together at Shoney's after the games. I'd love to get them to sponsor the event with $600.00 and then I could give away third place hoodies as well as T-shirts for 4th Place and everybody playing gets something !!!!

I could swing two more sets of hoodies ( 3rd place 16u and 18u) and T-shirts (4th Place) on $600.00 dollars.

I can't wait for this tournament to start !!!! I'm excited to see some new teams play and Dover is ready for us and WE are ready for Dover......

Tried to find some group to run concessions. Contacted all coaches to let them know there would be no concession stand and to inform their parents to such.

Can't wait until tomorrow morning .
