Congrats to both the Adam-Lasers Orange and Todd-Lasers Silver, sounds like the Laser nation was well represented! Did either of you happen to get a chance to see what the 14U teams looked like?

Hey ball-four,

It was the Laser Silver pitcher who was challenged on a technicality in her motion, she overcame the challenge and pitched with poise in that tight semi-final game. That was a great game between two competitive and quality teams.

As for your other thoughts, I respectfully disagree with much of what you wrote, but do respect your opinion.

Back to the proper spirit - Hats off to all who were out enjoying quality fastpitch in the fall. Gotta love being forced to don the shades ? 8)

Ball_Four,

I'm sorry you feel the way you do and that you had to resort to insults to make your point. Just to set the record straight, the umpire approached me about our pitcher and I asked her to call it both ways. The Lightning is a good team and I'm sure we will see each other a lot next summer. Let's try to keep it positive and not disparage another team.

I'm seeing all of this stuff about the Lasers, but what about the 16U Cobra's, the underdogs, out of North Canton.

The Cobras had to play 5 games Sunday all back to back, and yet they still found a way to win them all.

Ball_four,

No need to bash the Laser Nation or the Laser Silver over this close game between two evenly matched competetive teams. As you said, the situation with the umpire's concern about illegal movement by pitcher's from both teams did not come into play with the outcome of the game. Had the Lightning made a couple of plays to not let two unearned runs score they could have won this game.

Most good umpire's would not have said anything about either pitcher in a game like this. There is sometimes a very fine line when it comes to calling an illegal pitch or not.

As the Laser Coach says, these two teams will see each other a lot and keeping it positive is what is needed the most. Let's not resort to unnecessary comments about other teams and coaches.

The Cobars should recieve all of the credit that they deserve. Playing five games back to back and being the under dog had to be very difficult. I'm looking forward to seeing your teams great sucess in the 2006 season.
Good Luck!

CONRATS TO THE COBRAS!! My bad I got a little caught up in the drama! This is ball_four, under my other computer screen name.

Ya know sometimes I take the "HIGH ROAD" & sometimes I take the "LOW ROAD"! I guess the emotions of the game can be overwhelming @ times & the low road looms large & out comes the garbage.

The accomplishments of young female athletes should never be underminded. They are simply playing for "The Love Of The Game", and to minimize that is wrong. In addition the same goes with making disparaging remarks towards thier coach. I STAND CORRECTED for the comments made in the aforementioned postings.

We can always agree to disagree, but we should never take low blows.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE TEAMS THAT MADE IT TO THE "SHIP" !

I would like to compliment the Valley Extreme on a very friendly, well-run tournament. The weather supported my belief that fastpitch in Ohio should be played in the Fall. All the teams played hard and enjoyed the chance to play and compete.
Congratulations to the 12u Lasers Orange. This is my daughters second year in travel ball and you are by far the most dominant and classy team we have played. The game Saturday was a lot of fun and Sunday's intense game was far closer than 12 to 1. We thought we had dodged a bullet (literally LOL) when the lefty from Saturday wasn't starting against us but you came back with a righty who throws almost as hard and has a great change up - what a luxury. What a line up also. Your 7,8,9 hitters would bat 3,4,5 for any other team. Our ace battled pitch for pitch but ran out of gas against that line up. Your girls and coaches were nothing but classy in both games and we enjoyed the friendly, intense competition. I hope we can play you again in the future.

Chain Reaction parent, thanks for the compliment on our team, the girl you guys had throwing against us was very, very good, and you are right the score was not a true reflection of that game. We enjoyed both games we played and look forward to seeing you in the summer.

I am not so sure the Cobras' could be considered an underdog after the year they had last year. This was a team of 14 year old freshman last year that really made some noise against some top teams. Winning a few tounements along the way. This year the team has reloaded with some new faces and will be playing late on Sundays week in and week out. Under dogs..No Under respected..Probably.

Dear Laser Silver coach,

So there is no confusion in my message posted earlier.

I wanted to publicly extend you the courtesy of a formal appology. It's silly to use the OFC to vent ones frustrations over a 12u softball game, regardless of the outcome.

Time to move forward.

I appreciate the apology of Ball four but I WANT it known that the Ohio Lightning will never condone any bashing whatsoever. This is not the type of organization we are and I will not allow this in our family. I promise if this reoccurs I will go out of my way to deal with this internally. Congratulations to all teams for a good weekend. Special thanks to the Valley Extreme for a great tournament . See you this summer.

The 14U group all played hard from what I saw of the games, but when you have the "Wolfpack Black" playing, whether it is this tournament or any next year they will definitely be hard to beat! ? ? Very sound team. ? ? The Pittsburgh Power team was the "Floreak".

wolfpack_99, do you have a 10U for 2006 and if so is there any interest in playing in the Thunderbolts tourney up in Akron this fall? If you would you can e-mail me at BigBink2000@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance Lee Pyles-Central Ohio Stingrays.
