You would not laugh if you or a loved one contracted one of the new strains of staph. Or TB. This is one of the reasons I have become very anti-military. They roam the world killing folks to "protect" us from the squeaking oysters under the bed. All the while we are being invaded by diseases that are taking a massive toll in death and suffering.

I am qualified to comment in this thread for 2 reasons: 1st, I too am a former Cavalry Scout. Scouts Out Akadema1 and Garry Owen to Boldersdad! Bennett, you really need to stop drinking that bathwater, its no good for you, makes you say really weird stuff. And as far as the oysters go, stop eating them in bed, thats really just a wive's tale, they don't work like that.;&

2nd, My wife is a microbiologist. Staph, as well as other bacteria is everywhere. Its on your floor, your steering wheel, your walls, your toothbrush, in your bathwater (gulp), and even on oysters you left under your bed:eek:. Practice good hygene, cover broken skin with an anti-bacterial gel and a booboo bandaid, and if you are lucky, you will never have a problem with staph.

By the way Ms. Klump you should do some research about pigs and MRSA.

Don't need to, I've taken atleast 30 inservices on MRSA and could probably educate you. You should do some research on your social skills, they are dfinately lacking. :yahoo:

Staff infection.................Is that like when you have a coach who rocks the boat? And...............I'm pretty sure it's "Mrs." Klump. She's earned that moniker. Still sleeping with the bat?

They wouldn't be any problem if we had stayed out of their affairs. We have been over there killing them for near a century to faciliate the THEFT of their oil.

That is the most idiotic, ridiculous statement I have ever heard.

Great movie Tim! I remember when I was in Japan serving my country and making sure little jbennett53 was safe and sound and able to think and speak what he wanted because of all the fine men and women that fought and died to give him that freedom! It was late as I turned on the tv in the squad bay and much to my surprise, on the set was John Wayne in Tie a Yellow Ribbon, but speaking Japanese!! What a hoot! I would be remiss if I didn't put a link for my fellow Marines!!! Ohhhhhhhh Rahhhhh!

My kids have played indoors for 16 plus years in a different sport. Never have we heard of anyone having this issue and many kids are on the carpet more than softball.

Stealing thier oil?!?!?!?!?!? Yea let's just stick our heads in the sand....it will make it easier for them to cut them off. The Islamic extremists are behind 90% of all the death and destruction in the world and have been since the days of Benjamin Franklin.......I guess old Ben was stealing their oil too? It's simple if you are not a Muslim you are an infidel and shall be converted or killed. I haven't witnessed such a high level of ignorance in my entire life!

Why don't you take a little trip to Afghanistan and tell them you mean them no harm....I'll pay for your ticket? PM me for your flight arrangements.

An old Sailor and an old Marine were sitting at the VFW arguing about who'd had the tougher career.

"I did 30 years in the Corps," the Marine declared proudly, "and fought in three of my country's wars. Fresh out of boot camp I hit the beach at Okinawa, clawed my way up the blood-soaked sand, and eventually took out an entire enemy machine gun nest with a single grenade.

"As a sergeant, I fought in Korea alongside General MacArthur. We pushed back the enemy inch by bloody inch all the way up to the Chinese border, always under a barrage of artillery and small arms fire.

"Finally, as a gunny sergeant, I did three consecutive combat tours in Vietnam. We humped through the mud and razorgrass for 14 hours a day, plagued by rain and mosquitoes, ducking under sniper fire all day and mortar fire all night. In a firefight, we'd fire until our arms ached and our guns were empty, then we'd charge the enemy with bayonets!"

"Ah," said the Sailor with a dismissive wave of his hand. "All shore duty, huh?"

OMG, if you are who I think you are (Mr. Twister) thank God above we didn't accept your offer to play for your team. I would have been disgusted everytime my DD played, or practiced ball. Couldn't have stomached it! Would have had to go elsewhere. Thank you merciful God for leading me to the the right decision....Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lord...Amen.

i think we should lay off the service people, they are doing what our "fearless" leader of a year ago and his vice pres got us into, the only person qualified to be a president is someone who has actually been in a war. if you want to trash someone, then go after person that got us there..

I agree! As a vet myself there is nothing more disturbing than some idealist that has no idea what the real world is about, but yet has the nerve to slam those out defending their ability to be a moron.

There were actually many people who got us there, the 3000 that died in the towers and in the planes. If it was me in the white house we would need diamond tip drills to get through the glass to get to the oil.

Turf fields do provide a growth medium for staph if it is in the right conditions - mainly moist and warm... many of the outdoor turf fields down south can be a breeding ground due to climate... never heard of it indoor... still not a bad idea to have some handi-wipes with you to clean out the 'skin burn' if your DD slides and gets a strawberry..

I was only asking for advice on how to convince my 16 year old that it is wise to protect yourself against staph when playing indoor.

As the parent you have the right to force her to wear whatever you want or dont let her play.......If this is the same girl who refuses to wear a mask when pitching, you need to re-enforce who sets the rules in that house hold.

Dont try to convince....Tell !
