This weekend at the Valley Extreme Double Trouble tournament I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Smith, the father of Ryan Robert Smith. Ryan was a lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps serving at 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine regiment, 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune. His awards include Combat Action Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Medal and NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan.

Ryan was killed in Afghanistan.

The Lady Warriors dedicated this weekend to Ryan and his family. We cannot begin to understand how they must feel. We are all very proud of their son Ryan and very humbled to represent him and his comrades in the Red White and Blue.

Semper Fi young Marine!

These men and women that serve for us don't get anywhere near the accolades we owe them. And I do mean owe.
Without these fine young men and women, we are lost as a nation, they are our backbone.
I can never give them enough praise for what they lay on the line so that some average joe like me can live the life I do.
Words cannot express my thanks and gratitude for what they have done, are doing, and will continue to do in the name of freedom.
Bless you all!
