I would recommend that any coach wanting to improve their teams hitting make every effort to attend this clinic. Most of my players are lucky enough to go to Howard and we have seen our team batting average increase to almost .400. Howard puts on a great clinic and definitley understands all aspects of hitting.

Great clinic! The content was awesome; Howard, Coach B, Coach Sue, and Coach Jay had some great stuff (as one would expect). Each of them could have easily gone eight hours on their topics and still not run out of stuff to share.

Thanks to Jherica, Briauna, Louie, and Justine for the great demonstrations.

I thought the clinic was very good. However I can see where you'd have to listen to Howard several times before you could get everything he teaches. But he did show us some quick and easy things to "check" with our hitters. I can see he focuses a lot on not just showing kids what to do but also the "why". He did a good job of getting audience participation, however I was starting to wonder how long he was going to let me stand there with that "halo" thing around my head. :-[

Coach Larabee's enthusiasm is fantastic - I can tell he really has a true passion for the game and helping Wright State reach prominence. He also understands that well coached travel ball players are the life blood of his program.

I'm not sure of the #'s but it was nice to see both HS & travel ball coaches in attendance and I enjoyed see everyone.

Sure made the point on where your eyes were focused. Great Clinic and was nice to put some faces on some of the coaches on OFC. You are right. I could spend 8 hours with Howard and still not soak it all in. I won't speak for him, but I know it had to be hard on his part to keep within 3 hours. Here is a trick I do that is the cheap version of what he did. I tape a pencil to a helmet and hang a practice golf ball on a string on the end of the pencil. Then slide the helmet on the kid, after they tell me they are looking at the pitcher.

I thought the clinic went well, theres alot of info to take in before you really get a grasp on Howards techniques. 3 hours doesnt do the guy justice.
"gottaluvthegame" , the guy sitting next to me said Howard better not get him angry look at the meathooks on that guy lol
I think they should have put OFC nicknames on the name cards, as it would seem it would have been easier to tell who was who with the people you didnt know...

Ohio Heat used to have vision drill software loaded on their website for download. I just checked, and it isn't there anymore.

Howard is known to browse this site. Maybe you could ask him questions on OFC. You never know--he might reply.

I will let someone else cut and paste it. My computer is acting up. ?He posted it on the coaches web page. If you go to Hitter and look up ?posts. He posted the web site a few times for us. ?He went thru vision training with us at the clinic. This is one area many coaches don't cover with players. ?I like the saying " YOU CAN'T HIT WHAT YOU DON'T SEE" ?Just to add insight to this. I went to a high school open gym last night. Not one single girl knew which was her dominate eye ?and we expect them to see the ball. I also did the ball on the pencil as I explained above. Not one single girl had her head turned correctly to focus with both eyes on the pitcher. ?It was open gym , so I had to go see the Varsity and JV coach to explain what I did. Now on 2-25, I was asked to ge a guest speaker to the kids. ?
