Eagle that is my point really. Why aren't there 3-4 Gold teams in Ohio that ALL the best players strive to play for? They way to start eroding that perception is to make deap runs in Gold events.

Is it still the same - when a team plays in an ASA Gold qualifier the team can no longer play ASA 18u A? Or is that if you win a berth?

I heard/read an interview with Candrea recently. He was asked what he found to be the players biggest adjustment when he got them on the National Team. He said that besides those that played well into the college World Series the players of today lacked the knowledge of how to "compete". We take these kids to all these showcases and we as coaches try to make sure the players get the looks the recruiters want - but we forget that they need to compete, they need to sweat, they need to feel the highs and lows. That is one reason why I like events like the Stingrays Invitational. Coaches go to watch the players - but it is a tournament - nthere are winners and losers. Down here showcases are just that - showcases.

Once you declare Gold you are not aloud to go back to A. We are going to try Premier as we can still play ASA A as a back up and my 14U and 18U team can both go to Premier if they qualify.
