Harley tour is fun if you like motorcycles and if my memory serves me it's FREE...they take you thru the factory, you can sit on some cool bikes...definitely worth going to.

Chattanooga wasn't a whole lot better either.
Had car broken into right by main gate with supposed security near by.
Berliner wasn't much better a couple of years ago. Several cars from one team broken into also. Although since that rec center hasn't been open during the tourneys alot of the transient traffic is gone.
Associations need to start looking into regions they are going to be playing in.

Ohio Swarm is going for 14u. If you go to the city of York website you can look at the ploice log for any day. Doesn't look any different than ant other place. One was lady robbed and they took her jug of juice. if its going to happen its going to happen just have to be alittle more cautious. Looking forward to the trip.

In ASA, can't you go to any Regional National that you want to go to?

I'm almost sure you can. I think the 16u for NORTHERN regionals are in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

If I was a 16u team.. that's where I'd go. Great county/city park system. Beautiful diamonds there. Brenda Petty runs the show for ASA. In my book, she's top dog when it comes to being a TD.

16u teams will come flocking to Bowling Green . Let me go check.. but I am sure 16u is there for the Northern Region.

Good job Mike! I just mentioned on the pulling out of Nationals thread that I was going to make some phone calls to day to get statistics. I just sent an e-mail to Tina Sanders the TD for the 14u B's to garner some information as to their plans to increase security of the parking lots and the general area around/near the fields. I will advise as to her response.

If you get enough teams saying thanks but no thanks maybe they will find a new location in the future.

Just like anything else right now. take away events like this for these areas that might be hurting economically and then your making it even worse. Money for motels ,food will be gone. then their really hurting. just a thought.

Crystl and I have been to Warren and Pittsburgh and I have been to Harrisburg with no issues.

Since this board has a far reaching network I posted in the Penn. section so it may serve to help others verses striking fear into the hearts of parents and possibly gets some facts from the people in the area that most likely live and play there.

Man... talk about some sheltered people... (and I must defend my state of birth).. We are talking York PA people, not Philly... I would suggest that there is less crime there than such places as Cincy or Dayton. It is the middle of Amish country... how bad can it really be.

Daddy Dice had his car broken into and bat bag with all equiptment was stolen.

Where: A hotel at Polaris Parkway where staying for the GAPSS tournament.

I did a lot of online research, including riding the streets with the Google guy on Google maps. I've read online articles and news about York. I've read their local news. I've read their crime stats. I've talked to coaches that have been there. I formulated my own opinions.

I suggest you do the same so you can form your own opinion. My stance is that we are going to York and we are going to do our best to finish at the top of the pack. Yes, I will establish some precautions but they are the same ones that I would use everywhere.

Don't leave your valuables in the car.
Lock the vehicle.
Take your GPS with you and remove the stand.
Set your car alarm.
When walking at night.. go in a group (that is commonsense everywhere)
