Just received e-mail back from the TD and one of my parents has a brother-in-law from the area. He said the only problem is yes nothing to do. . .crime same as any city of that size.

Gretchen,
Well that's news to me. I was there and nobody brought any car break ins or muggings to my attention. York City Police cruise thru the complex regularly during events.
I am forwarding your e-mail to the York Visitor's Bureau and York City, to get their input.
thanks
Tina

In response to your concern, I spoke to our facility manager who told me that in his 40 year's operating the Hoffman Complex, he's had 1 car break-in that he's aware of.
I also asked the York's Parks Manager who said essentially the same thing. However, he did refresh my memory regarding an incident at last year's Eastern Nationals when the police had to be called to remove the coach of an Ohio team who was interfering with the staff trying to prepare the fields after one of the many, many rain delays we had last year.
You can believe whichever side you wish. As I stated before, York City Police regularly cruise the park even stopping to watch a few innings or grab lunch at the concession stand when time allows.
Of course, if you are really concerned and wish not to enter the tournament, just let me know ASAP and I will return your entries.
thanks

I am gathering from all of my investigative work that things are better than they were four years ago with average fields. Biggest issue would be field maintance during games from what others have said. . .
