We were off last weekend. Good run by Orange and thunder Elite at Celine Wyatt. That’s a tough event to play in with many top level teams and double elimination.

We will be at World Series this weekend at Berliner. Would like to wish good luck to the ‘08 class next year. We played numerous games against the top end of the class and it was a challenge week in and out. That birth year is very deep with talent and can’t wait to see you all in 14u!

Lasers Orange won the Celine Wyatt Memorial tournament this weekend going 6-0. A tip of the hat to a very tired Thunder Elite team who we defeated in the championship as they were on their 6th game of the day. We have been in that situation before and understand how much of a grind that is and they fought hard the entire game.

I did not vote Lasers Orange #1 from weeks 5-12 as I did not feel we were playing to our full potential. I think we are now playing the way I knew these girls were capable of and will be casting a very proud #1 vote for us this final week. Our pitching, fielding, and hitting right now is on fire and we will carry a 12 game win streak into the North American World Series next weekend.

I want to thank Jeff Steiner for all the work he has put into these 10U and 12U coach’s polls as I have been a voter the past 6 seasons. These things are fun when done the right way, so thank you.

This years FINAL RECORD 96-38-5
OHIO RESULTS 13-2-2

After looking back on the season, we had only 8 losses on the season that I really felt as " bad losses ". The others were toss up games where teams were evenly match and sometimes you lose and sometimes you win. We will be returning 8 great players and saying good-bye to 3 great players. I can't wait to we can get back on the practice field and get going again. The big ball gave us fits early on, but as we went through the season, we switched to wood bats during the Winter and got us stronger. Can't wait to see some of you guys again in 14U as I wish I really played in more events in and around Ohio to show more of you guys what we could do.

The Lasers Black 09 team went 3-3 this past weekend at the Celine Wyatt Memorial tournament in Dublin.

We will wrap up our season this coming weekend at the World Series @ Berliner.

Overall we are pleased with our season. As a first year 12u all 09 team, we felt we competed at a fairly high level most of the season. The team finished over 500 (36-31-4 Current) for the spring/summer season, with about 60% of our games being played against 08 teams. We didn’t win any tournaments however found ourselves in the final 4 in several strong tournaments this summer (Outlaws, 5 Alarm)

One thing we learned is how hard it is to win against a strong 08 team. While we did manage to pull out some wins against 08 teams as well as a few against teams in the top 10, we also took our share of losses from them as well. In the end, I believe we both brought out the best in each other as we faced many 08 teams who batted their best 9 and threw their #1 against us which to us meant that we earned their respect on the field. We also had our usual great battles this season with the top 09 teams, Emeralds 09, Stingrays 09, Outlaws Frengel 09 to name a few as well our one and only battle with Bandits 09 which was a great game that ended in a 9-9 tie.

Congratulations to Lasers Orange 08, Wolfpack 08, Stingrays 08, Thunder Elite 08, Finesse Munoz 08. We played all of these teams except our own Lasers Orange team. These teams were at many of the same tournaments so we got to watch these teams a lot. They were all impressive week in and week out and were fun to watch!

Best of luck to everyone going forward!

if I had a vote I would vote lazers higher than bandits anyway because one they overrated, and too they only played 15 games in ohio, in my own opinion
