I believe all of the all-district teams and all-state teams have now been decided. Now is that special time of year when coaches power trip and sit on this information until their postseason banquets. Instead of playing gatekeeper, they should get the word out so the players can be recognized by their schools and peers before the school year ends. It's time for softball to modernize and get these released immediately like other sports do. It truly is a shame that coaches make this about them and not the girls.

To that end, please post what you know here. Or you can DM to me here and I'll post without using your name.

if your offended by the way and when of names being released.... wait until you see some of the players named where.
Totally agree with that last comment. Buckle up and hold on to your popcorn bc it's about to get interesting once these are all said and done. We already know some of the ones receiving certain awards that have not been mentioned (not our place to do so) out loud yet and it is so hard not too say anything and it is really hard to process the fact of who and what they are receiving. You will def shake your head and be like What in the actual beeeeeeeep LOL!!!

Shame on the coaches who put a girl who had the most hits for the entire league and one of the top batting averages on 2nd team for a conference! Why? How? The budy-buddy system has to go!

Probably just on that girl's head coach? I imagine the all-league teams are slotted based on league standings and it's up to each team's coach who ends up on 1st team, 2nd team, etc.

Okay, get ready to be mad at me. I believe the awards are watered down and too many undeserving are getting the award at any capacity. I realize there are more girls playing, more schools have teams (that's right, there was a time when schools didn't have teams) but I don't support the divisional breakdowns for any of the sports, not just softball. I hold the achievement of "All State" as one of the highest, a life-time honor, of only the blue chip players in the state. Those few should be the only ones considered regardless of the size of the school.

I have no problem with there being all state awards for each division D1, D2, etc. The ones that are frustrating at the conference awards level where said player is receiving say 2nd team all conference, and in conference right down the road, she might be lucky to even be a varsity starter her senior year. And no i don't have a suggestion on how to fix it. luck of the draw on housing area I guess.

Do you think the media should decide them instead of coaches, like they do for basketball?

Looks like these southwest players are probably listed in order of points recieved so it can be inferred for D1 that the 1st 5 are 1st team all state. 2nd 5 are 2nd team all state, and next 5 are honorable mention.
No one from Springboro in D1 which likely means no names were submitted and that is unfortunate as they had a good season and several deserving players.
