College Recruiting Question

Hello-

I have been told by college coaches that if a player (in this case a sophomore) sends an email to a college coach (NCAA), that the coach is allowed to respond to the email. My question is, if a coach is invited to attend a college showcase by a sophomore player by email, can the coach reply to the invitation by saying "yes" or "no" as to whether they will be attending to watch the player?

During the Junior year i have a question. Do you have to be NCAA clearinghouse registered yet for them to send you information about their sports program?

When are the quiet times, the dead time and any other dates that are significant . What does that mean, quiet vs dead?

Please elaborate and thank you for your time.

I believe that the NCAA Clearinghouse is not required for a school to send their information about their program to a junior. We received letters from all divisions before we registered our daughter for the Clearinghouse.
