What would you do if you won a tournament and the TD said that they would send out your trophies, awards, shirts or whatever and you never received them?? After a couple of e-mails and they still don't send them???
Should this tournament and program be published so other can beware???
One of our teams won and another runner-up this past fall and still not have received them. I was told that they would look into it over a month ago and not a peep. E-mailed again this past week and still nothing.

Ouch! Was this an legit Association? i.e. (ASA, USSSA, NSA, ect.) There is no need to tell me who they are, but if it was I think I would be contacting that Head Office of that Association and complain even if there was nothing that they could do,at least let them know how things are being run at the Tournament that is being operated under their Association's Name.

Chances are they'll reply, and won't be very happy with whoever the TD of that Tournament is, and they may even do the contacting for you from there and correct this matter. No, Association likes their Name dragged through the dirt if they can help it!

Good Luck!

FASTPITCH! Anything else, And you're playing to SLOW!

This happened to us a couple years ago and it was upsetting to the kids at the time but after a couple of months the TD made a deal with me that he would knock a substantial amount off of the following years tournament or he would have the trophies made up at that time. We elected to take the discount because the trophies just didnt have alot of meaning after the fact. We went back next year at a discounted rate won the tournament again and everyone was happy. This might or might not be something for you to look into.

Agreed Blue! I would give them one more call or e-mail to let them know you will let everyone know who they are, and what tournements they are associated with!

Although I wasn't the director that did this to the Wizards, it happened to me once. I had Louisville Slugger sponsor my late May tournament last year. The rep brought me what he recevied which was short most of the items we had agreed upon. We got it straightened out and got the teams there awards.

The one thing that I hope I did correctly was having the team awards there. This way pictures could be taken and a small ceremony could be done thanking and acknowledging the effort the girls gave to get to the finals.

I did make a mistake last year in the late June tournament because of the umpteenth weekend in a row with rain. We got rained out for good late Sunday afternoon/evening and I miscalculated the second place tiebreaker and gave the wrong team trophies. Rather than "discredit" what the other team did, I sprung for another set of second place awards.

I am not perfect but I believe in fair play and hard work and rewarding such is priceless.

NOTE-please ignore my signature. It just updated earlier and still shows USSSA information

It's all about the girls. If you are running a tournament, do what you said you were going to do. Honor your commitment that brought the teams to "your dance". Plain and simple. As with all things that go bad, I'll get the word out as others have said after due diligence didn't work out...

Thanks for the feedback...... I am hoping that they will read this and take care of it without stirring up more. I do know that they have received 5 or more e-mails.
This was a sanctioned tournament by a very well respected organization (at least we respect them and I believe most others do too).

I hoped you posted this on the Tournament Rating page. I would forget about the prizes. Rate the tournament that way everyone knows what this TD is about. OH wait would a TD rating page be a great idea.

Trophies aren't that expensive and can be done in a few days by most companies. I know you have alot of teams in the Wizards organization and if each of them decided not to play in that tournament again because of the lack on follow through there would probably be some action taken.

I have been going to the mailbox everyday for the last three years waiting for the trophy's Mark Tooman said he would be sending us. As hard as it is to realize I'm wasting my time, I still keep checking.

I haven't gone back to Toledo for any tournament since, and don't plan on it anytime soon.;&
