A local softball player, Rikki Lynn Cromlish was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. She is 16 years old and attend Catholic Central High School in Springfield, Ohio. I got to know Rikki when she was little and attended the elementary school I teach at. She is quiet, kind and caring. Her mom is a secretary at the middle school. Rikki loves softball! She plays varsity and travel ball. She is currently staying at Children's in Dayton. If you could, please pray for her recovery. I've attached some apps if you would like to help the family out. I've also attached a link to her Dad's Facebook page. Thank you!

Update: Rikki was able to go home last night from Children's hospital. She will be getting treatments each week. I was able to visit with her last night. She told me she FaceTimed with the head softball coach at the University of Oregon. How cool is that!? A meal train was set up to help her family out. I'll put the link down below. Thanks.

Update from her family: Great News!

Today, exactly 3 months from the day we received the WORSE news a parent ever wants to hear we received some of the BEST news!!
1f64c.png

After just 11 of 40 chemo treatments, our baby is in PARTIAL REMISSION!

She got her first scans since her diagnoses last Friday and they showed GREAT improvements! We were crossing our fingers that the chemo had just shrunk the tumor enough for them to go in and remove it. scans showed even BETTER news! The tumor is almost completely GONE!!

NO surgery needed!! The concerning news is that there are still a few lesions in her bone marrow but NOTHING like before and he is confident that those will be gone on her next set of scans in 3 months!

She will begin radiation next week. Mon-Fri for 6.5 weeks (33 treatments). Once radiation is complete, they will reverse her colostomy since there is no tumor pushing on things.
Continue to pray for our sweet girl and our family as we’re not out of the woods just yet but we are on our way!!

keep her on all the prayers lists!! It’s working!! He is working! And I am in no way a religious individual but God is GREAT!

Thank you for the update. Always feels good to hear that a child, any child, fighting such health issues is winning the battle. Chemo and radiation are serious adversaries for anyone to face. This Kid must be strong as nails. It speaks volumes for her character. I don't know her but still feel good because she's doing better.
