Buckeye Storm 18u vs MadDogs 18u oops sorry that’s old school teams when ASA had real gold teams.

This was a true rivalries as the Coaches couldn’t stand each other and the girls played dirty. It was anything goes when then two teams played each other. I remember one game that 4 girls had to leave the games due to injury’s. Most all we’re due to contact at the bases or more like the girls trying to tackle each other. But fun to watch them play.

There are probably alot of great rivalries between two evenly matched teams that play each other frequently. Most coaches on here have that team or two that is on their "list". I can name our couple rivals but most on here would not recognize any of the teams.

Not sure travel softball has the ability to have a great rivalry that transcends beyond their own parents and players.

I would say there’s some good Org vs Org rivalries out there that keeps brewing weekend after weekend and year after year.

My definition of a Good rivalry might be different than yours. There should be no Hate in this game.

This is a game of Respect and I believe you can have good rivalries without a bunch of no class hate. Show sportsmanship and lead by example. You can battle with teams week in and week out but with Sportsmanship.

It doesn’t have to be Dirty play on the field. To me that reflects on the coaches and parents and that’s the only place that Dirty play comes from. These kids have to learn it from somewhere.

My teams have had rivalries over the years but we have always respected the other teams during the rivalries.

For example Last year our Rivalry was with NY Diamond Girls- Cotton. We ran into them at almost every event. They are very well coached and solid team. It got to a point We played another Diamond Girls team (Coons) and coach Cotton came and helped coach Coons team to try and intimidate our Athletes. It fueled our Athletes and they Won big that game. Made him look silly. He knew our pitchers and hitters inside out and he would tell the other coach this and that but our Athletes stayed focused and played the game.

I have nothing but respect for Ken and his team. Even though every time they beat us they used a sub pitcher that was Nasty. I mean this girl was the best we ran into all year long. They would never throw their starter against us cause we Teed off on her.
Our girls had a big rivalry with that team and they still talk about it today. Hope we play them this summer. Just not as much as last year.

a big rival can be made... cut a bunch of players and then face them the next season. there is a manmade rival right there.
