I am currently coaching an 8U Coach Pitch Rec team. I have a larger girl playing catcher for us and it is hard for her to get into a squat so she will often just hunch over with her hands on her knees. Last night we had a play where she caught a pop up at the plate and the opposing team argued that because she was not in a squat it was not a legal play. I have read all through USSSA and NCS rules. Neither say that a catcher must be in a squat. They only address the equipment, they must be in the catchers box and not interfere with the batter. I asked our director about it and he states that it is an assumed rule and part of the game. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks,

No rule - OUT!
But I have to ask, this is 8U REC ball. Why do you keep the same girl as Catcher???
Why not change it up and give her a chance to actually play defense in the field?
Not helping this little girl! Sounds like with the other coach complaining about a girl making a catch, this league's coaches worries way too much about winning, then teaching the game...

Thanks for the feedback. She actually prefers the position and I have another that rotates in.

They are apparently ok with her taking a knee now.

I also wanted to know the same. Thank you so much for the clarification you gave. Like this question, I also asked myself: Is there anyone who can write my assignments because I hate writing them? Then, after some research, I found this https://lastminutewriting.com/assignment website, which is a writing service provider website that writes for you if you pay them. They are a team of professional writers. I have used them to write my assignments, and they do it at an affordable price and in no time. If you still have some doubts, you can visit them and read their reviews.
I am new here, can I ask a question?
