The Southern Ohio Force '07 was in Whitehall at the USSSA Cap City Challenge this past weekend and currently are ranked #4 in Ohio in USSSA.

Saturday Pool Play Results (3-0):
Defeated Lasers Orange '08 (#8th last week) 3-0
Defeated Central Ohio Ice '07 (10th last week) 5-2
Defeated Ohio Classics '07 5-3
Earned the #1 overall seed

Sunday Bracket Play - Ran into a buzzsaw against Lasers Orange '08 as they got their revenge from Saturday's Pool Play game by smoking us 12-1 and move into the Championship.

Overall a good weekend as the girls continue to grow each week and as soon as we can get the Saturdays to carry over into Sundays we will be even better! Will get to stay home this weekend to play in the Battle of the Tri-State in an open class 10U division.

 

[Finesse 07 - Sib]

Finesse 07 - Hoverman was in North Ridgeville at the Breast Cancer Shootout USSSA qualifier. Our pool was an absolute gauntlet. Matchups with last weeks #3, 4, and 5 teams. As always, it was an absolute slugfest with these teams. Suffered another one run loss to the Wolfpack. Got revenge on Lightning from Marion. Went toe to toe with Ice Black. Girls learned a big lesson in not overlooking teams. With the schedule loaded with teams we were very familiar with, Ohio Fire came out of nowhere and punched us in the mouth. They hit the ball and played good defense and unfortunately we did not. Our friends the Lightning proved again why you can't count them out. We were up 9-0 heading in to their last at bat, and they tried their darndest to comeback. Got to love their grit.

With all that said, unfortunately bracket play was washed out. We are playing our only local tourney of the season in Toledo this weekend. See everyone at Firefighters.

Ohio Thunder 007 went 4-0 on Saturday to claim the Mother's Day Round Robin Championship!

The highlight was the 5-0 Shutout win over Louisville Sluggers-Rice!!! This is a top team from the region. They won the Crushing Childhood Cancer event in Ohio in the fall and they had just won the Battle of the Bats in Indiana 2 weeks ago beating the Indy Gators for the Championship! Was a great day of ball for 007 and a great victory over a top team in the Sluggers!

We will be playing in Indiana this weekend and look forward to next weekend's Firefighters Memorial....

Lasers Orange 08 came in runner up at the Cap City Grand Slam Challenge in Whitehall. It took the girls a little while to get going, but after the first two pool play games we came out swinging. We finished 3-3 as the only 08 team in a field of 07s.

Ohio Stingrays 08 was in Milford last weekend and went 4-0 before thunderstorms put an end to the tournament...they were crowned champions based on runs given up.

This weekend we played in the NK Bandits Royal Rumble finishing in 4th place...only 08 team to make the platinum bracket.
