You were not the only one with something ""mistakenly"" walking off (double quotes for effect). Someone took one of our players Stealth bats to add insult to injury for this tournament.

Our team had to book an extra nights stay in hotel because of the early Friday start that never happened. There was no rain for 2 hours but they cancelled the day anyways. Funny enough, we played an exhibition game with an older team on the Friday. Just don't get it.

Did someone say they got a refund or partial refund? If so, please PM me with what you did to get it. 5.5 hour drive to play 60 minute games.

Some of the 10u teams only played 2 games all weekend. I agree it was sold as a 4 game min tournament sounds like a bunch of teams are owed a refund.

Not to mention the "revert back" was handled differently throughout the tournament. Someone mentioned they tied the game and then lost becuase time ran out and they reverted back (which is the way I would interpret the rule, not agreeing with it) however I watched a game that the home time tied it, time ran out before the end of the inning (home team making the 3rd out) and they played 2 innings of ITB to determine the winner. Also heard a home team came back took the lead, didn't get the 3rd out and "reverted back" to lose and on a field next to them the same situation and the ended the game with the home team getting the win "because they took the lead in the bottom of the "last" inning.

I certainly hope no teams lost on a revert back after they took the lead in the bottom of the last inning ... that is never the case with revert back ... it makes no sense! If I am the home team and that happens to me, me and my team are not leaving that field until the TD or the ASA Commissioner gets their butt there to right that wrong.

One question ... I am confused from some of the posts above ... was drop dead, revert back in the original tournament rules (I am shocked if it was in an ASA/USA qualifier), or was it put in after the rain delays to get the games in?

Quote; "Seeding for championship play will be based on pool play results.

Pool play will be 80 minute drop dead with revert back. All championship playwhich includes all elimination games will be 7 innings or if tied after 7 theITB will go into effect. Pool play will begin at 8am on Friday."

As I read this, pool play was supposed to be drop-dead-revert-back. All "championship play or elimination games" or bracket play as it is often refered would not be. No big deal. Move on to the next tournament.

Ok. I will chime in again. As stated by most this tournament was a huge dissapointment. There are some things I left out about the umpiring. As stated earlier. There were some very good. However the bad over shadowed the good in my opinion. Example: Opposing team has a runner at second. Pitch is thrown. Batter fouls it off to the back stop. ( Dead ball right?).
Catcher over throws the pitcher. Runner goes to third. We asked for time to discuss the situation. Both umpires agree it was a live ball. We asked the question that if the batter fouled the ball of into the fence behind the first baseman and she threw the ball over the pitchers head is live. The answer was yes from both. This is not an excuse as we won the game. However, if you are going to run a USA qualifier you should have the best umps possible. The umps I am speaking of were from a far distance and I am sure other teams experienced what we did. And agian this is for 12U only. I cannot speak for the other age groups.

The thing I find most telling is not one player, parent or coach from Explosive has even tried to explane there thinking about the rules they used. It looks like they have our money and don't really care about anything else

I can say that at the 14u level we got our 4 games in only because we lost 2 in a row in elimination. However, the umpiring in all of our games was atrocious. One pitch is a strike, the next in the exact samespot is a ball. Variations in strikes zones from team to team and inning to inning was common to see. Bad calls against either team was the norm. I know we won't be attending next year's tournament.

We are missing a white bucket with the word Spaulding on it. Our last name Sirohman as well as our city louisville was written on the bucket. The last park we were at was Fultz on sunday around noon. If anyone saw it please respond. Thanks....

Not sure why you would expect a player or parent, or perhaps even a coach to explain the rules if they were not involved in setting them. Look to the tournament director for your explanation. Players show up and play. Most parents simply watch. Not saying you don't have legitimate gripes but that is a cheap shot to throw everyone in the Explosive org under the bus.

I am the schedule queen for our tournament. And yes we will not have the schedule out this weekend. We plan on getting it out on Monday, since we could still have more add ons by then. We will ask that ALL teams to be ready to play early, all age groups will be playing at 8 am. So please plan accordingly.

10U / 16U Volunteer Park: 21410 Lunn Rd. Strongsville Ohio
16U Youth Fields: 21410 Lunn Rd. Strongsville Ohio
14U / 16U Foltz Industrial: 16109 Foltz Parkway Strongsville Ohio
14U Old Rec Center: 21273 Drake Rd. Strongsville Ohio
12U New Rec Center: 18100 Royalton Rd. Strongsville Ohio

18U York Road Fields 14631 York Road, North Royalton Ohio

I would say, this is the "schedule queen" for this ASA/USA national tournament thats not respouding along with the TD, and I would also add Warren Jones, he was there also. This was one of the most DISGRACEFUL ASA/USA National tournament ever run.

FYI, if anyone lost a 3X black underarmour hoodie with a silver logo at Volunteer fields, we turned it in at the tournament table under the tent...
