These polls don't hold much weight with younger age groups, but it is nice to see how teams develop over the season. I've been trying to check out some of these teams mentioned above while at tournaments.

If I only knew then than I do now....this is the fun age. Before you know it (unless you have an older dd who plays travel), their off to middle school/high school and playing for their schools.

I still remember the 10u poll from a couple of years ago, that got so out of hand that the mod had to shut it down. I't had gotten to I believe 10 pages, I have to admit it was entertaining. My point is who cares at the 10u level?

The people at 10u who have been working their tails of for a long time. The people at 10u who are more competitive than politically correct, the people at 10u who believe in a work ethic not just patting their dd on the back and saying "good job" regardless of effort or lack there of. I personally am sick of hearing "it doesn't matter at 10u" , you tell that to the kids and parents who didn't make the cut on their choice 11u team. Whatever this thread has been in the dumper since it started, people got hammered about simply saying who the good teams are they have seen thus far, and few else have chosen to put their thoughts out there probably because of it. Whatever.

I agree with you ri-domination this is a thread to see what teams have been seen by people and their opinion on how they will end up. Everyone needs to just have fun isn't softball suppose to be fun.

i agree also, the pools always change ,from 10u to 18u, as long as everyone is here to help and support all these girls that work hard and to help them improve there skills, some coaches work harder than others at all ages, its a fact,, this is fun for all ,lets keep it that way....ive seen some talented 10u teams this year. Sundogs are very impressive

I use this thread every year when making out our schedule. I want to go play the best (or who people think are the best) every tournament. Keep this rolling and I will say I have seen a few teams this fall and I think Storm 03 and Sundogs are going to be solid all year. Cant wait to do battle with them all summer.

18u? When is the last time there's been a poll on here above the age of 12u? Beyond 14u it's not even really posted about (unless you're talking about High School - then it's like 10u all over again).

The 10U Black Ohio Hurricanes are going to be a very solid Team. This Team consists of half of the Sunraze Team that competed with many last year.

I haven't seen the 14U polls yet. I use these polls just to get an idea on which teams play competitive schedules and how they fare. If I get time to catch some other games between my DD's game, then I like to try and watch a game or a few innings. Many people get too wrapped up in the weekly rankings but as the season progresses, things work themselves out in the dirt!

I have a 17yr old and a 10. There is a big difference in the way you view the games at each age. If you have a young one have fun and enjoy it! Polls are fun but they are often a popularity contest until summer. I get just as wrapped up as most with the young ones and no matter what anyone tells you - If you are spending the time and money to travel you are probably in it to win. Of cousrse alot changes and kids develope at different rates but I have yet to come across a team that didn't care come Sunday! I can not speak for our team but one of my goals for the season would include being on the top of those darn polls! HaHa!

I Agree 100% !!!! Its sad when you have a great weekend of tourneys and the only scores you get is 10u and 12u i love the polls I love to hear about the little 10s grinding it out for respect .... been at 12u for a lot of years now and have enjoyed watching my kid play with 98s 99s 00s ..... I guess its my turn to loose track of who is doing what at 14s and up...... I remember back when i first became a member of ofc you could find 14s 16s 18s scores every weekend kids names were dropped on who was pitching great or hitting great for any team at any age ! it was much diffrent then how it is now ....when was the last time any kid was mentioned about there big bat or big base speed ? people would get on here and list all the top 9th grade(freshman) pitchers in the state bye name and give them a rank ! now if you name a 8th grader on a team and say someone is better or had a better weekend then another kid your thread gets edited or shut down for harm of hurting someones feelings ???? I miss the old days ..... and I love ranking kids on performace at any age ....these kids play elite travel to be the best and play the best ....even at 10u !!!

At 10 and 12u the parents are typically new to the game and don't know each other. They do not have all the social networking that parents/ coaches have built by 14u. Even though score aren't typically posted people know who did what by word of mouth. Just my 2 cents.
