Cross - Fire Drill

Work on three skills and keeps 10 players busy.

Hitting, Hands and Eyes Coordination.
Fielding Technique, Throwing.
Receiving Thrown ball.

There is a hitter and catcher, and one or usually more fielders. I use 10 player when I do this drill.

Place both hitters and Catchers one set half way between 1st base and Home, the others between 3rd and Home

Place your fielders one at Short Stop the other at second base. Have the other girls flank the fielders about 10 feet back.

The hitter between 1st base and home will hit to Short Stop and the hitter between 3rd and home will hit to 2nd base.

Once the Fielders have fielded and thrown the ball back to the Catcher that girl will Rotate Clockwise and the next player will be ready to field hit.

I have the Hitters hit about 15 times then Rotate with the Catchers, after they have both hit 15 each. The hitters and catchers will rotate to the field and 4 fielders will come in to hit and catch.
