No one is trying to conceal anything friend. I was just offering you the information to contact the person who has final say over USSSA fast-pitch state matters and is also Matt Cloud's boss. If I had a problem with an area director, then I would go to the next in command which in this case is the state director.
But I guess it is easier to complain on a message board, then to try and resolve this by contacting the one person who might be able to get something done. If you want to have your attorney contact me for trying to help by leaving you the contact info for Denny Rose, shoot me an e-mail and I will leave you my street address to send the subpoena to.

Dear Mr. Craig while your response is welcome it really does not address the issue. The fact of the matter is the tournament entry fee was not sent to USSSA, they were sent to MATT CLOUD. this is his responsibility alone. We should have received a response from him.
I do not see where it makes a difference weather USSSA, ASA, NSA, or NAFA sanctioned the event....Matt took or money. He did not take it on behalf of USSSA he took it on behalf of Matt Cloud. He did not take it on behalf of a fastpitch organization as a fundraiser......he took it for Matt Cloud. We expect our money to be returned by Matt Cloud because Matt Cloud cashed the checks. I see no good reason why any of this has to be handled thru Denny Rose you or anyone other then Matt Cloud. Why would you return money that he clearly took??????? It is not your responsibility and we would never expect you to refund it to us. You did nothing wrong and you did not steal it.
If you read thru this thread you will see that everyone was pretty understanding...right up to the point where communication ended. To me that is obvious. Matt has been contcated hundreds of times privately accourding to people in this thread. I say its a good thing that everyone now sees the situation for what it is worth. That is one of the strengths of this forum.

I do not appreciate being attacked by you mr. vipers and I especially do not deserve to be referred to as an "IDIOT". Perhaps you should try showing a little class on here instead of attacking like a little viper all the time. Maybe this is why you are having a tough time filling your tournament.
I think that the folks who had their money stolen from this TD is a little more concerned about discussing that in this thread. Not in keeping the focus off of your little tournament. By the way my 4 year old granddaughter loves the smiley charactors, they make her giggle.

Mike, you say we need to contact Denny, what about the ones who have contacted him and still no respnse. You say he is not much of a computer person, ihave received emails from him in the past but IMO if he is the state director then he should return emails and with that being said as edamame said the checks were made to Matt Cloud not Denny, Mike or USSSA all he needs to do is answer respnses.

My suggestion would be contact the Police Dept. (city) that the letters were sent too, file a report and then let the police file charges !

Those of you who have not received refunds may contact me. I have experience in retrieving fees that were 'stolen' and we were relatively successful in making the organization refund the monies that were taken. I can give you some ideas to help your odds of receiving refunds.
I can also offer some advice, while going to the police may seem like a good idea, you will have problems getting anywhere because the funds were given to the party by your choice. While that may not make sense to you and me, I am just offering my experience in regards to this type of situation.
It is interesting to me though, the problem I had was a smaller scale than a tournament, but when I posted anything in regards to it to warn other softball families, my posts were edited, deleted and I was threatened with 'banishment'. Seems odd that in contrast these posts are so specific in regards to the parties involved.
At any rate, feel free to contact me with a PM and I can give you some details on my experience.

everyone was told when ASA was run out of Fairborn, that USSSA would step in and take everyone to the promised land,,,,, i bet the people that beleived it diddnt think it would cost this much to get there

The problem is Matt more then likely killed fastpitch in Fairborn and that is too bad. There was alot of promise.

I provided some of you a link to the slow pitch board that he frequents and suggest that you call him out there.
I attempted to question him on that board and my posts were deleted several times by the board moderator. I was persistant, continuing to post and he finally gave a lame reply about a letter from a lawyer saying he couldn't refund to a team because one of the players on one of the teams left a team and filed some form of claim to her "portion.".
I then replied that OK, I may be able to buy that for one team, but not the several of you who say he still owes you money.
I truly think that if you post individually on that board with details, he will be forced to respond to you all. There are many slow pitch teams on that board that pre-pay him money all of the time. he will not want continued bad publicity.

Thanks Jim at least we know he is still around. It might pay to keep an eye on the slow pitch schedule and maybe pay him a visit
