Dedicated in 2003, Olentangy Liberty is a four-year, public high school with an enrollment of over 2000 students. Liberty is DI and competes in the OCC conference, Buckeye division. Academically the school is ranked as one of the best in Ohio.
In May Bob Lee retired after a successful seven-year tenure as head coach. From 2012-2015 the team won four straight OCC league titles and made two consecutive regionals. In 2016 the team upset the #1 seed to play in the district final. Alumni have played college softball at Elon, Middle Tenn St, North Georgia, Capital, and John Carroll, just to name a few. Last season the program had 29 girls total, and only one senior graduated from the varsity team. The majority of girls play on summer travel teams.
The softball program includes varsity and JV fields adjacent to the baseball fields, an active booster group, a major fundraiser in the GAPSS Tournament, and a training regimen led by strength/conditioning professionals. Hyatts MS and Liberty MS, the feeder middle schools, each have 7[SUP]th[/SUP]-8[SUP]th[/SUP]grade softball teams as well.
