I’ve searched the forum and am unable to find anything..

What would be good covering over dirt for a pitching lane? I’ve seen crushed red brick mentioned as possible solution. Any other ideas? Should I place some hard bricks / clay as a base?

Thanks

I do not have a kid that pitches but have helped install some lanes and a lot of work on fields. From experience I would recommend digging up 3-4" deep 18" wide (you can get away with smaller area) and installing clay bricks in front of your rubber and out about 6-8'. Stamp down 1/2" below rubber and cover with dirt and some brick dust mixture. Install a home plate and some 4x4s and netting for a back stop and you are good to go!
