Snail mail not working well why can't you just post the schedule on your web page. There are people outside of the teams playing that would like to watch. We would like to watch old team mates etc...

Hold on there Jeepdad, you are really out of line here. They are in the handouts on our website and have been there since 2:08 pm today. I do not have the ability to attach the files here as it fails each time. If you are a coach and would like a copy, please PM me and I will take care of you. IF you are a parent or fan, you will receive the information from your coach or again, you can visit. http://www.eteamz.com/MCMadnessFastpitch/handouts/index.cfm?cat=168054&subsite=4891154#handout771130

I have never in the 14 year of playing tournaments and running tournaments seen so many people, and I qualify that with non-coaches, directly contacting tournament directors/assistants for information.

There are many great aspects to OFC, but this is one that needs to be reigned in. I know we are not the only persons seeing this trend. . .

This is not meant as a slap to anyone, just food for thought. . .JMHO

feisty

understand your frustration but also as a parent having the info on line helps me handle work schedules and other children's schedules ahead of time since the coaches often don't give us this info until wednesday.

food for thought for all

Got an email that you want to charge an extra $50 to teams that aren't even playing at your park on Saturday. What's this all about. You already have our entry fee and now you want $50 more to send us to a different park and split the families. Not sounding like a good idea.

Coaches and Parents. The result of the pending lawsuit due to the lighting of the fields encroaching on the drive-in movie theaters property, games had to be moved to another location. We want everyone to have the best possible experience given the uncontrollable situation due to the injunction regarding the lighting of the fields. This is not a result of over booking nor is a a way for us to make more money.

The entry fee for Ohio Sports Park is $5 per person with a $2 coupon for the concessions stands with 12 and under being admitted for free. Since the 10u is playing all pool play at Palmer and pool "C" of the 12u, the fee was determined for entry at Palmer. This is actually a reduction in price compared to the cost it would have been for family members to enter Ohio Sports Park. Based on a 12 man roster, the parents/fans would be at $2 per person if each player has two guest for the day vs $5 to enter Ohio Sports Park per person. However, there is no limit to the number of guest/fans that can enter at Palmer, where Ohio Sports Park all person over 12 must pay $5.

We understand the concern and fustration of parents with this, but when you consider you actually are saving money out of pocket, we hope you have a different view.

I really think teams should look to hold tourney some where beside Ohio Sport Park. It is not a complex for fastpitch softball. Beside it not really ready to hold tourneys. Parking is really bad. One way into and out of the park. Porta pots are clen for the first day than it is enter at your own risk. One place to get food. I know that the owners wanted to open it as soon as possiable to make money on a complex like that, but they should of just had the beer leauge this year and waited for the rest till it is finished. Like I said in another post I think it is a nice complexy for slow pitch, but fastpitch it is a joke. As far as the extra gate money that will be charge this weekend. Its not the teams problem that there is a lawsuit about the lights. That problem should of been taken care of in the planning stage of the complex. If someone did the home work they could of angle the field another way. I hope that teams that are going to the Nailbitter don't drop out because of these extra fees, but I would not hold anything against them if they do.

How is everyone getting that there is extra fees? There isn't. If your games had been at Ohio Sports Park as originally set in our pool plays you would be paying $5 to get in. We are looking into the situation to resolve it to the benefit of everyone, but the constant slamming of the situation is just completely unfair to any organization putting on tournaments at this location. We are beholden to a contract and have no control of what is or is not completed. Are we disappointed, greatly, are we giving up, no. This will be a wonderful place once it is completed.

Ohio Sports Park, NOT the M C Madness is charging the gate fee. Any questions or concerns in regards to the Ohio Sports Park entry fee should be addressed to Ohio Sports Park owners and managers. We do not receive any monies from this cost.

I didn't think that you did cause we talked to the NSA officials last week and they told us the same thing. I understand that OSP charges, we want to know how they can charge us for a park that isn't theirs? They will get their money cause there is alot of families that have more then one child playing.

I think the answer is yes. We played last week there Fri, Sat., & Sun and had to pay everyday. Baseball games going on there was cheaper to get in, but I don't know if they gave you $2 towards the food stand or not with the baseball ticket. I guess I don't mind the gate fee. I know a kid on our team had grandparents and it cost $90 in gate fees (3 days @ $5.00 for 6 people). I don't think they will be at the games this weekend just of that. I know madness has nothing to do with these fees and I was not bashing them or the complex as a whole. I just think they open a little soon before everything or most everything was finished. The field are not fastpitch fields and all but one fence is 300 feet. Even at nationals for mens fastpitch the fences are not 300 feet. I was told this past weekend by North Coast coach that he thought there were going to be temp. fences for fastpitch. They might have temp. fences up this weekend maybe feisty can let us know about that. As far at Palmer fields I don't know anything about the location. We have never played there.

I will not answer anymore question until we have come to some type of conclussion with the issue. I want to be on top of everything but at this point it is dominating all of my time and I have a great deal to prepare for the tournament. Coaches will be advised of any issues/changes first and then posted to the website.

The OSP usually charges $3.00 a day. I guess that Madness is getting an additional $2.00 a head, not a big deal unless your bringing the whole family.

I think all of the teams should have been notified of this when the entry was received. What happens when a parent of a 10U and a 12U wants to watch some of both games - they are getting charged with the 10U team at Palmer fields and being charged to enter at OSP also. I don't think this is fair to penalize a parent for having two different girls playing - it's hard enough to watch both girls at one park let alone at two different parks. Let's hear your answer to this!
