Kavin said it was brutal waiting for that last game... he also said the teams were really strong! Glad it worked out for everyone. I'm not signing up for that mental torture at 4am. Pretty sure our ladies have no interest in it either.

Yeah you dont want to be that #1 or #2 seed. Its a long wait. The idea is to get that 3,4,5 or 6 seed, that way the girls keep playing. Seemed like the Wave girls didnt mind though. I think they spend the entire time on the dance floor dancing with the DJ.

Chris - thank you for a great evening on non-sleep!!! :) & Congrats to the Ohio Wave 14U as they played outstanding all night. All these teams (not commenting on my Static '97 team) have very strong teams & will have great seasons. I saw a lot of strong pitching from everyone.

My girls learned an advanced lesson this weekend about mental part of the game when you are tired. Not only does it affect your thought process but also your ability to make normal plays if you let it - the championship game showed that. The Wave played flawless in all aspects & we did the exact opposite. However, I am proud of my team's effort (I do believe they physically gave 100%) as well as their aggressiveness at the plate - the tee work at home is paying off girls.

Best to luck to all the teams as I know we will see each other often this season.

Here are the scores for the Ohio Wave '96:

Pull Play:
Wave 4-0 vs. Venom Black (Akron)
Wave 2-1 vs. Havoc (Cincy)

Bracket Play:
Wave 5-0 vs. Buckeye Heat (Columbus)
Wave 7-1 vs. Cincy Static - Championship

I was very proud of the girls as they played outstanding! They only allowed 2 runs all night long. I don't know where they got their energy because they did spend most of the night on the dance floor in between games. :)

Congrats from Havoc to both the Static and the Wave! The girls had alot of fun(can't say the same for most of the parents). Thanks Chris for having us, and it was a pleasure meeting you! Good luck to all the teams, and we look forward to seeing you all again this summer!!

Long Night! DD had played a BB game earlier that day that went into OT and she played the entire BB game and was one tired kid that evening. I wanted to give a shout out to the Venom parents who were extremely courteous and nice to be around. You can tell why their kids are polite and respectful and know how to play ball too.

From the short guy with black glasses (we have two short dads with glasses).

I echo Scott's sentiments regarding the Venom parents. This was the first times our teams have hooked up on the field & after the game quite a few of their parents stop me & congratulated us on our play. All the way around from their coaches to their players & to the parents - class act!!! They will be playing late on Sundays!!! BTW - I loved the colors of their uniforms :)

I just wanted to say that this was an outstanding tournament for us. A fantastic experience for the girls. Thanks to Chris and his staff for a well run event. We were hoping to get a feel for where our young ladies were at against some very good talent. I think we achieved that!

To all the teams and parents...thanks for the competition. It's nice to see these kinds of teams have tremendous sportsmanship where the focus is where it needs to be. On our girls!! Good Luck to all of you.

Unfortunately, I probably won't see you on the field this year. I will be heading to Afghanistan in June for a year. Twenty-one years of service and i get hit with one more "Hoorah". One more tour and I'm calling it a career!

Thanks again & Good Luck!

I have to ask- how quickly did your DD fall a sleep after pulling out of the parking lot? I looked over at DD and before reaching Hwy 4 (5 minutes maybe) and her mouth was wide open and her head was to the side sleeping in the passenger seat. The whole way home I was pushing her up as she would fall over in the seat.

My dd made it all the way to Rte. 741 and Bethany Rd. in Mason before falling asleep. She wanted to have a Sausage McMuffin with egg for breakfast, so we stopped at the McD's on Rte. 63 near I-75 (slow service btw). That kept her awake for awhile. We all slep until 3:15 in the afternoon. The last 5 or 6 miles were a real struggle for me driving.

I'd also like to echo the sentiments of some of the other comments on the Venom team and their parents. You have a nice solid team, with some very class act parents. The semi-final game was a tight well fought battle, and both teams were deserving of a win. I wish you all the best of luck this coming season.

And a special message of well wishes for Coach Asher. I hope your year of duty in Afghanistan goes quickly, and that you have a safe return to your loved ones. Thank you for your service to our country. God Bless!

Hey Rick,
Like I told your girls on their first trip down, Jan 15th All Nighter (which they won), they really impressed me. You have a great group of girls and they will be very competitve this year. I was glad to see you guys come back and play against the teams this past weekend and they did not dissapoint. Very strong group.... and I echo the statement about your parents. I had the opprtunity to talk with several of them. Class act all the way around.

And also I want to say THANK YOU as well for your time serving our country. I wish you and your family the best while your away. Be safe and God Bless you and your Family for your sacrifices.

Rick - You & your family will be in our prayers while you are away doing the most noble job anyone can do - serving your country. If there is anything the Static Org can do for you/your team, we are just a shout away.

God Bless.

Mine made it all the way home (about an hour drive)....... I do have to mention that we left at 10 pm. :lmao:

It was great to see everybody out there this weekend. Though we were not playing, my dd made comments on how good the teams looked out there.

Just wondering........did Static 97 get to debut all of their uniforms that night?:)
