Please note: The motel contracts holding the rooms with the original hotels has expired. Quality Inn Midtown came through with a "no deadline" price for the teams. They are now listed on Page 1 of this thead. Actually, the room prices are lower as well.
Looking fine so far. The southern teams are just finishing up HS softball and starting to e-mail about the event. Another 16u out of Cincinnati I think is going.
According to the Savannah Parks and Rec Dept heads... our tournament flyer will be passed out at the event listed below to every coach, player and fan who walks through the gate. This is a big plus for our event in getting the message out to teams in that general area. Check out the list of teams playing this event.
link: http://www.southernstarsoftball.com/team_information.html . Please note that for some reason when posting this link in this post some letters are missing It should read... after this: .com/team_information.html is how it should read
Thanks for the inquiry from Mid USA Mojo out of Danville, Illinois . Hope to see you at the event. If you have any more questions .... feel free to contact me. Contact info on Page 1.
SoftballNation president just informed me that the SoftballNation World Series is to be held in Virginia Beach, Virginia on July 22- 25, 2010. What a great place to vacation - play softball- and relax .
Deadline for the entry to this event (Savannah) is Tuesday, Novemeber 24th. If you have been sitting on the side awaiting... jump on in. No need to ride the fence......Can't tell you the amount of teams that are riding the fence here.... If all of you are waiting for the others to jump in...and everybody does that.... it accomplishes nothing.
It's a go in the 18u and 16u divisions.
Weather for Savannah link is on the 1st page-1st post now for the teams.
As of this evening, this is a dual sanctioned event. I have added Global Sports Association in the mix for the teams in the Southeast and Georgia area. Their website is www.globalfastpitch.org
I moved the deadline back for entry until Tuesday, December 8th at 9 pm EST
Coaches have been notified. The teams entered know this tournament is ON and agreed to take teams on until the December 8th date.
Global Sports Association is giving a direct berth to the Nationals in all age groups. This will excite the Southeastern Region teams. Their Fall World Series attacted over 100 teams last weekend.
You are welcome Ricky. No big deal. It's the least I can do. I think the www.thesoftballzone.com is a great tool for the teams of softball.
Yes, adding the Global Fastpitch Association and making this dual sanctioning will hopefully bring some of the southeastern US teams aboard and for both organization heads to agree to such .... is a wonderful gesture to the teams actually. I thank Wayne from Global and Butch from SportsNation/SoftballNation very much.
It will benefit both organizations. I like the way both organizations operate... their tournaments are run by organized TD's ... and that it is for the girls .. travel or rec .
Good Deal, Tim since you spent so much time talking to OHSAA about playing rules. By the rules the way I read them. I can now have more then 4 girls from the same high school playing in the World Series. I also think that making them Qualify will keep some of the crazy stuff that happen between Coaches in 2009 with the Weaker Teams.
OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) bylaws are very strick about who can play after August 1st. For more than 4 girls from the same high school to play on the same team after August 1st, the tournament must be a National tournament of some kind... whether Nationals or World Series.
Teams: I'll be gone most of the weekend... so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't get back in touch right away. I'll be back on Sunday night as I am driving to West Virginia and Western PA to look at softball facilities for 2010 tournaments.
