COCOA BEACH, FL--The Rochester College women's softball team played two tough teams on day two in the hot Florida sun. The first game they took on the Benedictine College Ravens. The Ravens came into the game with an impressive 9-2 record in their early part of their season. Game two the Warriors played the Celtics of Carlow University. Carlow came into the game with a 1-4 record.

Game One:

The Ravens of Benedictine came out of the gates swinging a very hot bat and found themselves with an early 3-0 lead at the end of the first inning. The Ravens struck again in the second with pushing across 9 more runs to give themselves a demanding 12-0 lead heading into the third. RC was able to put one on the board in the top of the third of an RBI single off the bat of Alexis Evans (Hemlock, Mich./Hemlock HS). Benedictine answered right back with a run of their own in the bottom half of the third. Rochester was able to score one more in the fourth to give the Warriors their last run of the game. Rochester College fell with a final score of 2-13 in five innings.

RC was outhit by the Ravens 15-6, two of the hits coming from Evans. Kelcie Juhas (Midland, Mich./Macomb CC) Jonae Bidden (Troy, Mich./Troy HS), and Karli Kline (Flushing, Mich./Elizabeth Ann Johnson HS) each recorded a hit of their own.

Game Two:

After a long break in between games, the Warriors were back on the diamond as they took on Carlow University. Just like game one of the day, RC found themselves down after the first inning, this time down 1-4. Rochester cut the lead in half as they scored a run in the second inning as Kline singled to right field scoring Juhas. The Celtics answered back with three more runs of their own in the third to give themselves a comfortable 7-2 lead going into the fourth inning. RC was unable to put any more runs on the board and fell with a final score of 2-8.

Evans again led the Warriors in the hit column with two more in the second game. Juhas and Kline each added another hit to their season stats.

The Lady Warriors will be back in action and look to improve their 3-3 record as they take on Penn State Hazleton and the Martin Luther College Knights today. The first game of the day is set to start at 1:30 pm. With just a short break in between games, the second game is set for 4 pm.
