On my College team we had six players that attended camps held by the College Softball programs Coaches and players. We had another eight players that actually made their first contact with the coach by email. We had one really fast bases runners from track that just showed up for practice one day. What really surprised me the most, only two players were discovered thru Showcase tournaments. The rest of the teams players came from High School Coaches or Elite Travel Team Coaches that had ongoing relationship with the Coaching Staff. Yes it true, many of the players had the Head Coach, Coach Assistant or even a current roster player show up to watch them play in showcase tournament.
