Softball training device causes surrounding residences to be evacuated

A softball hitting device was mistakenly left at the wrong California home this week prompting a bomb scare.

Coach calls player, I'm coming over to drop off a training device. Player, well I won't be home so you can drop it off by my door. Coach no problem I'll drop off later today.

Coach drop device at wrong home freaking out everyone.

Not the same, somewhat similar.

I was in my apprenticeship and I went to put a light pole in someone's front yard. We got out there and did the job, were in and out of the house all day long. Everything looked good and worked great, we were packing up to leave. Some guy pulls up and says "who the hell are you guys and what are you doing here??"

Wrong house.

The guy I was working with smooth talked the guy into paying for it, but yeah. It was pretty tense -- and hilarious to me -- there for a minute.
