Viper Fast Pitch U18 In Association With The North Cincy Softball League (NCSL) Announces 2016-2017 Softball Try Out and Team Information

The Vipers Softball program, associated with the North Cincy Softball League (NCSL), will be holding tryouts July 13[SUP]th[/SUP] & 14[SUP]th[/SUP] in order to form U18 teams starting play in August 2016.

Tryouts will be held at Landen Park, (2258 US-22, Maineville, OH 45039) from 6-8 PM.

These teams are being formed to provide opportunities for high school aged girls who want to continue playing softball outside of their respective school seasons, but are not involved in travel/select programs.

Current districts in the NCSL are Kings, Loveland, Little Miami, Blanchester, Clinton Massie, Lebanon, Lakota and Pisgah. Players enrolled outside of these districts or private school programs are also eligible to try out and play.

We are targeting the following types of players:
? Currently playing for their High School team
? Want to dedicate to the sport of softball and their respective team
? Not currently committed to other national travel or high exposure ?select? level teams
? Want to continue to improve their skill level within the sport, year round.

The teams will play in already established high school level leagues in spring and fall, or depending on response, a newly formed league for spring. The teams could expect to play in 3-4 local tournaments during the season.

Even though OHSAA does not restrict team rosters based on school enrollment in June and July, our hope is that these teams formed for the fall season, would stay together year round and also play in the spring and summer months, after the school seasons have completed.

Details

  • Roster is set by tryout only. These will still be competitive teams.
  • Coaches will be determined after teams are assembled. Candidates can express interest in coaching a team, especially if they are already coaching girls from, or associated with, a specific school or district, that are grouped on a team.
  • Teams will practice throughout the offseason when able, and not to interfere with preseason or offseason school team workouts. Spring season will start once players are released from their school teams. Fall season will begin in early August and run through mid-September.
  • Try-outs will be held each summer and the fall season is viewed as a continuation of tryouts for the following spring, depending on interest and participation. There could be roster cuts, as teams are assembled for fall, based on try-out evaluations. An attempt will be made to cap teams at 11-12.
