During my years in High School I volunteer with my old youth league to help train young players. It was a great experience that I really enjoyed. I’m not really sure how I was selected as the instructor for the catchers since I played SS since I pickup my dads golf balls and try throwing them thru my old worn out tire swing. So that’s the short version on how I learned quite a bit about training young catchers. Over the next months I will try sharing my experiences and knowledge of working with young youth league catchers. My goal is to help parents out there or young coaches working with young catchers. I will leave all the advanced training techniques to the professionals. If you have a young catcher I may be your girl, so follow my upcoming post and I welcome all comments and suggestions.
